CD Projekt RED Group Spring Conference live tomorrow at 5:00 PM GMT

People say it is not spring until you can plant your foot upon twelve daisies. GOG.com has proven otherwise, and you knew it’s spring after eight daisies already: Legend of Grimrock, Treasure Adventure Game, Trine, The Whispered World, Machinarium, Wing Commander 4, Spacechem, and Darwinia. However, as many a sudden change takes place on a spring day, we’re about to reveal another four amazing daisies tomorrow during CD Projekt RED Group Spring Conference.

The harvest of a whole year depends on what you sow in the springtime. And this year, oh boy, we’re into some serious sowing. During CD Projekt RED Group Spring Conference we will:
* tell you what has changed on GOG.com in case you missed it
* offer a sneak peek at future GOG.com releases
* give you a special gift as a big, sweet “thank you” to our users

Remember that those who arrive to the spring first, drink the purest water-- or
Remember that spring won't come from one flower--we need plenty of you to watch the CD Projekt RED Group Spring Conference!

nemesismartyn: Sorry for that question, but even googel cannot help me.
5:00 PM GMT (1:00 EDT) <-- What does this mean in CET, or in european time?
Is it 17:00 O'Clock?
Or 21:00 ?
It's 7:00 PM Warsaw time; I think Germany is on the same time zone as Warsaw.
avatar
Darling_Jimmy: Wow, a 2-liner! This must be important.

EDIT: Oh, the thread title has been edited to only occupy one line now so this is probably no big deal after all.
I like that a broken HTML escape is apparently what separates the important news from the trivial. :P

nandesz00: Actually it's 6 PM.

sry. Im wrong. Its 7 PM, as TheEnigmaticT said.
avatar
gameon: I'm pretty sure its just +1 of gmt. I visited germany once, and i remember having to set the clock forward only one hour. But that was west germany.
Daylight Savings time, dude. Right now it is 13:42 in Warsaw. GMT, it's 11:42.

Daylight Savings: making international time zones batty since 1940something.
avatar
gameon: Its 12:43 right now in uk
Yes, but GMT time is not the same as UK time.

Fantastic: Looks like nobody asked this before, so I'd like to ask: will this conference be recorded? I won't be at home at the time of the conference, so I won't be able to watch it. But if there would be a record, that would be great, as I'd like to watch it later.
Yes. And we'll have the recorded version available for viewing almost immediately after the end of the presentation.
avatar
bazilisek: EDIT: The tables have turned, I see.
Muaha. Muahahahah. MuahahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
avatar
TheEnigmaticT: Yes. And we'll have the recorded version available for viewing almost immediately after the end of the presentation.
avatar
CowboyBebop: Thanks :) My connection sucks so I can't watch it live. I'll let it load on youtube (it will be on youtube right?) and then watch it.
YouTube will take a little while longer to get up, but yes; it will be there too eventually.
avatar
Miaghstir: You aren't too new, but I suppose you may not have experienced the community when a counter has been set up. GOG might want to try keeping the frenzy down a little bit :-) The forum goes absolutely nuts.
We've crashed the servers on a countdown before. I.T. has kindly asked that I refrain from using them willy-nilly.

andrestv: Somebody has already asked this (I think), but how long will it be?
Just long enough to reach the end--and no longer!
avatar
DCT: So yeah 1:00pm EST
Technically, it's *noon* EST when we start. Because that's 1:00 EDT.

But if you're in the States, you almost certainly are using EDT at the moment.

Daylight Savings Time: It Screws With Your Head.
avatar
nijuu: Gee they could of held it at a more convenient time of the day in the morning or earlier in afternoon... (going to be 3am here lol)
It's going to be an inconvenient time *somewhere* no matter when we hold it. Sorry that Australia gets the sticky end of the wicket, though.
avatar
Dreadz: ]\ I somehow messed up the time conversion and woke 5hours earlier than needed, so I know that feeling.
Wow. That's pretty rough. o.0
avatar
defectivemind: No sleep for me tonight. I'm sticking around until the final curtain.
Gonna be tired come whatever time it ends this morning.
The whole thing is somewhere around an hour; maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

TheH2s: Oh and the dude with the hat has an epic voice.
avatar
spindown: He's using a Darth Vader voice changer.
The dude with the hat appreciates it.
I've managed to lock myself out of admin rights from my home address, so I can't update the main news post to tell you guys this: the video stream archive got completely farked; our video folks are working on it and will get it live as soon as they can, but that likely means tomorrow. Apologies for the delay.

I'll be hanging out in the forums for an hour or so before bed, so if you have any questions, hit me up in a reply and I'll get right back to you.

I just wanted to offer this to all of you guys who are expressing disappointment about Fallout as our giveaway: GOG.com has a huge userbase, and even though we've had Fallout for sale on our website since we launched, it's something that more than 90% of our users don't own. That's users who signed up three weeks ago, three months ago, and and three years ago. When we thought about what we could offer our users that is--bar none--one of the best gaming experiences ever made, Fallout was an early and obvious choice.

Negotiating something like our giveaway of Fallout is something that takes a lot of time and goodwill between both the IP holder (that's Interplay; thanks, guys!) and the distributor (that's us); negotiating another contract with another IP holder for a smaller percentage of the website (and then another contract for an even smaller percentage, and so on ad infinitum) would require so much more time and effort than the initial deal that we'd quickly drown in legal tape.

We did give all of our fans--even the longest-term ones who have faithfully bought everything in our catalog--a gift a few weeks ago with the delightful Treasure Adventure Game; this was done in part because we wanted to make sure that no one would feel that they haven't received a thank you from us.

We hope that the overwhelming majority of our users who don't own Fallout already will give it a try; it's one of the best games ever made, and one of my personal favorites. For those of you who already owned a copy, you got the chance to enjoy the incredible atom-punk setting of the Fallout universe before many people who are just now discovering it for the first time, and that incredible experience is a value at any price we've ever charged for this game.

Keep tuned to GOG.com; we are continuing to release more fantastic classics (we can't talk about them because the really awesome ones are still awaiting some approvals by our partners, so they're still NDA'ed!) in the upcoming weeks and months; we will also keep providing you guys with fantastic newer and indie games as well. Thanks for watching the conference, or for reading one of the summaries posted around; we appreciate the passion of our long-time fans and we'd like to say hello to the new ones a well.

TheH2s: :) You had to be a radio personality in your past life, amirite? I was listening to the video at work and it sounded like I was listening to someone on the radio.
People ask me all the time if I do voice work. The answer is "no, not really." But I did theater acting for 13 years; some of that still shows when I speak in public, I guess. :D

captainfish: ok,, what was the big news at the end of the video from GOG.COM? What was given away? Video cut off at 53:08 and he was still talking.....

Anyone know? GOG??
Yeah, the way the video ends now is an accidental master troll. It's Fallout free until 4:59PM GMT on the 7th.

hedwards: But, at least this time we've got an explanation of why they couldn't give an alternate game for previous owners. A large part of the problem last time was that they ignored the people who were left out of the giveaway and allowed it to start to fester without addressing it at all.
We did address it last time, actually, but perhaps that got lost in the noise. Also we just gave *everyone* a free game. All of you. New fans. Old. No matter how many games from our catalog you had, Treasure Adventure Game was a free retro thanks from us to you.

Now we've *also* given away Fallout for free; we knew that some people (many of you, actually) would already have this game, but such a huge majority of you do not. I'm sorry if you guys are unhappy about this, but we've literally done everything we could to make sure that no one would feel that they hadn't gotten something from GOG to reward them for being part of our growth and success.
