Thanks for bumping the thread, I missed it back in September/October, and this is definitely something I'd be interested in checking out. I've searched for a good tool to organize my games for years (see for example
this old thread and
this one), and so far the best solution I've come up with is a combination of my own, manually built GCStar collection to archive all games I own and the Win8 metro screen customized with OblyTiles for an overview of all games installed. Even though I'm quite pleased with the results, both methods require a lot of work and aren't exactly future proof (GCStar for example already dropped support for the Windows version, despite it still suffering from a few bugs and insufficiencies).
I also tried adding non-Steam games to Steam once but I thought it too roundabout and time consuming when trying to add a whole lot of them, customization options not attractive enough, and you can only add games that are installed. So, I don't know how hard it is to do, but I think what could make your program stand out are features like these:
- a very easy and comfortable way to add several games at the same time, e.g. via Drag and Drop of desktop shortcuts or by importing all selected desktop shortcuts (as opposed to selecting each of them on its own)
- the possibility to integrate links to games that are already using a different client like Steam, Origin, Uplay
- a combination of archiving all owned games (whether installed or not) and allowing to separately list and start all installed games
- customizable categories and tags
- a portable version of the program, and no internet connection required for using it (apart from manually importing covers and such)
