StingingVelvet: Little things most companies don't think to do:
Got to the part of the campaign where you make the first choice between one avenue or the other. Went to my mission database afterward to find that the alternate choice is there, waiting to be played with one click. Awesome.

PoSSeSSeDCoW: Unfortunately, after you beat the game you can't unlock the secret mission without playing the campaign over again. Hopefully Blizzard will patch in the ability to do so.

Which mission branch do you run into that particular secret mission in? And did you unlock the secret mission on Media Blitz? That secret mission was awesome.

The secret mission in Media Blitz is the one I was referring to.
This game is freaking awesome. I've been playing the challenge missions the last few hours, got one with perfect score. Need two more to complete them, with all the achievements.

Are you good at the hotkeys one? I mean, I regularly use hotkeys when I'm playing, but damn!

That one is EASY!
Use the Stalkers for the right bottom corner.
Use the Carriers for the right side and the right upper corner.
Warp in Dark Templars for the right upper corner.
Use Phoenixes for the top side, and the left upper corner.
If you want, you can also use the Sentries and the High Templars for the left side and bottom left corner, but I did it without these.

I had no idea what you were talking about but I looked it up... glad I got a head's up, thanks. Does this mean there is actually 30 missions? Or is it more of a brief joke mission or something?
I just got the Protoss missions open, so I am jazzed.

The bonus mission counts as mission #29. It has normal length (and is actually one of the better missions, so you should definitely check it out).
Unlock it in the mission "Media Blitz". There's an object somehwere on the map that you can pick up ("Secret Documents"). Try looking for suspiciously nondescript buildings ...

Stuff: Edit: Not the link I wanted to give you but an interesting link just the same.

I wonder how happy people will be in 30 days time? Especially all those who are convinced there's only a one time activation. That is, assuming that it's a legitimate support response there. Only I did notice one glaring typo in that.

Gersen seems to have confirmed the 30 day reactivation exists. It would be something that Activision would not want ppl to know about hence the lack of info.

To me, the typo all but guarantees that it is an official response. :)
Even if the 30-day reactivation requirement is true, I am guessing that it will be brushed under the carpet by many SC2 gamers that would not accept it for any other game. People are fickle, in general.

Lobsang1979: Even if the 30-day reactivation requirement is true...

It's true. It's been tested and confirmed.
That's way too much for me.
The high price. The fact that the other campaigns were stripped out of the game as per Kotick's suggestion (which rules out any excuse for doing so that doesn't involve gross profiteering). The hackneyed plot and the fact that it's largely just an HD makeover for an 11 year old game and you've got something that doesn't really interest me. Well, beyond trying to figure out why everyone else is interested in it.
But add to that the "we know you stole it really" DRM and they can fuck off.

I'll test it myself before I believe it. Just seems off that Blizzard would be dumb enough to implement an activation scheme that can be beat simply by changing your windows date.

Often changing the system clock (backwards or forwards) can remove any remaining time on trial software and force you to buy it before you can continue using it. It's basically just protecting itself against any attempt to cheat it. This would most likely have happened had the clock been set back a month too.
So it's not that it's being conned into believing it's actually a month later, but rather it's protection against any attempt to con it.
Of course I'm comparing the DRM of free trial software with constant reactivation schemes. But then that just goes to show how shitty it is to include this kind of DRM in full retail software.

COPY AND PASTE of what I answered in another thread (guess I will continue in this one...)
Well in offline mode they have no way to know which time it really is...
I haven't tried that yet but I guess that there is probably anti-"time travel backward" mechanism, So if you play the game the 2nd august at 8PM and suddenly start the game the 2nd august at 4PM you will probably get the "you must reactivate" message too.
If I have time I will try that later today.
What I wonder is if there is another "hidden" time limit, for example if you must reactivate every 30 day and also reactivate every 10-20 hours or so of gameplay... I am kind of tempted to let the game run in offline mode on my laptop for 24-48 hours in a row to see if it asks me to reconnect. So even if you "tweak" your clock some day you will reach the time limit.
I'm still going to class these reactivation rumours as rumours. As stonebro said, I don't believe Blizzard is dumb enough to make an activation scheme that can be avoided by changing the computer's calander. I'm gonna wait until a month's time to see if there's an outcry about it before confirming or issuing an I Told You So.

Well, I am glad I waited to buy, and I too will wait and see what comes of this. Stories like this make me like GOG all the more though.
