It's all moot, though, since you'll probably be playing it online anyway.

I said nothing about multiplayer :3. I simply stated that you'll probably, at the very least, be online while playing. Also - you might give in to the temptations of the achievement system...

And if you don't do multiplayer/achievements, you basically got the game for free. Therefor, the 30 days activation seems reasonable. :)

It does what the third party application hamachi does for no reason other than to maintain control for the company, it is not there because t he consumer desired it nor to enhance the game.
In addition to this no doubt once everyone is okay with there being no lan on an inherently lan based game like it's and the diablo series subscription services for an unnecessary component shall swiftly follow.
Do either a google or a wikipedia search for the slippery slope i'm sure you'll turn up something to keep an eye on.

TheCheese33: LAN is the silliest thing I've seen people complain about. Most of the people who are complaining just want it there because the first one had it, but honestly, how many of you would be able to use LAN practically in this day and age? Most college friends are probably scattered all over the US of A by now, and the friends that are around may or may not be fans of the series.
If people want to play StarCraft LAN games, then they can whip out the original and have fun times with that.

I agree. And it seems like a good business model to get rid of it, eliminating bootlegged LAN party copies..
Also for a whopping 12GB and the account activation it wouldn't be worth having LAN....
