I’ve been incredibly lucky as of late, so I don’t think it is more than right for me to do another giveaway. This one will be for the game Sword of the Stars (complete collection).
So, what do you have to do? Well, this is a quiz giveaway, so anyone who wants to have a chance at Sword of the Stars needs to answer some questions correctly. PM me the answer for a chance to win a copy. You need 8/10 (or more) right answers to participate. You also need a steamgifts account (I’ll send you a private giveaway link if you get enough right answers).
Also, please format your answers in a logical way. And don’t post any answers (seriously or as a joke) in this thread.
Giveaway will end on Friday, at around 20.00 CET.

1: Stars are huge objects, consisting mostly of hydrogen and helium, though other elements are being formed inside the star though fusion of these atoms. What is the energetically most stable element that gets formed inside a star? (I.e. what element will give out the most energy when it is formed?)
A: Helium B: Hydrogen C: Ferrum D: There is no limit, heavier and heavier elements will be formed until the star dies, with each giving off more energy

2: Stars are classified by type based on their spectral characteristics (basically what colour(s) of light it gives off. There has been more than one star classification system, but the current one is the Morgan-Keenan system. Based on this system, what type of star is our own sun?
A: A0 B: G2 C: M8 D: K9

3: The excellent 4X game Stars! (which you should totally vote for on the wishlist) was made by Mare Crisium (meaning Sea of Crises). Mare Crisium is also the name of a lunar mare (or a basalt plane, seen as a large dark spot on the moon). This is a name that was given to it by Giovanni Riccioli in the 17th century, though it is also known by another name. What?
A: Caspian Sea B: Adriatic Sea C: Sea of Clouds D: It has no other (known) name

4: Back to classes of stars. Which class of star is (most likely) the most common?
A: A B: G C: M D: K

5: Polaris (also known as Alpha Ursae Minoris) is the northern pole star. But what is the name of the star that is commonly seen as the closest approximation to the southern pole star? (Note, this is a bit of a trick question, as there is no star clearly visible with the naked eye that acts as a southern pole star, but there is still a known star, that with some aid can be seen easily and that acts as a southern pole star)
A: Pi Sagittarii B: Delta Draconis C: Sigma Octantis D: Rigel 7

6: A red dwarf is not only a type of star, but also a British comedy series that has recently been rebooted (again). One of the main characters, Dave Lister, was played by Craig Charles. Which of the following TV shows has Craig not been in?
A: Robot Wars B: Lexx C: Captain Butler D: Little Britain

7: It is believed that the calendar used in ancient Egypt used the first helical rising of a certain star as it starting point, which also marked the start of the annual flooding. This star was considered to be linked to the Egyptian goddess Sopdet, who also was the goddess of the fertile soil. But which star was this?
A: Sirius B: Canopus C: Venus D: Canis Major

8: Star Wars is one of the most popular sci-fi (or sci-fantasy, depending on how you look at things) movies of all time. The holiday special on the other hand is a bit less popular, to put it mildly. It introduced several new characters, including Chewbacca’s son. What was the name of this character?
A: Scabby B: Lumpy C: Sunny D: That annoying thing that makes Jar Jar look good in comparison

9: Shooting stars does not involve shooting at stars, instead it is a beautiful thing that you can sometimes witness when looking up at a clear night sky. But what is it usually?
A: A meteorite B: A comet C: A star falling from the sky D: An unexplainable phenomena.

10: Roughly how many stars can a person with good eyesight see without any aid on a clear night with no distracting light sources in the vicinity?
A: 2000-2999 B: 3000-3999 C: 4000-5000 D: A few million
