Is it possible to have your Steam account canceled? In the Steam suscriber agreement it says

"Either you or Valve has the right to terminate or cancel your Account or a particular Subscription at any time. You understand and agree that the cancellation of your Account or a particular Subscription is your sole right and remedy with respect to any dispute with Valve."

and

"Information on how to cancel your Account or a particular Subscription can be found at http://www.steampowered.com/."

But Steam support says
"Only inactive accounts containing no games are deleted. Accounts cannot be deleted by request."

Your best bet would be to contact support.
Cancelled as in deleted no, I don't think so. Accounts can be suspended however.
From here it seems to say that accounts can't be deleted by request, but are deleted automatically if there are no games on it. (Edit: Ack never mind, you put that in already :P)

From here and a few other forum posts, it seems that you can contact Support to ask them to ban your account but the lack of ability to actually delete an account has to do with the possibility of an account being hijacked and maliciously deleted. So yeah what they said above!

Ok, so they basically can disable your account for you but nothing else. It seems there is no way to contact Steam support about it though. Does the Steam suscriber agreement have power over me for as long as the account exists? What if they update it with, for example, all Steam suscribers must pay a monthly fee of 15 euro etc or update it with something else I will find unacceptable?

If that ever happens, simply don't pay them and they will disable your account for you. There is no way they would be able to get that money from you through any legal means without your consent.

So the Steam suscriber agreement is nothing but words?

All law is nothing but words, technically speaking. The question is whether this particular agreement can be enforced by Valve in any way, and I think the answer is clearly no. They can't take people's money without their consent -- they would get sued for that, and lose.

Put yourself in Valve's shoes. They've got a massively profitable enterprise on their hands. One that has a monopoly but also one that is not without strong competition from several other companies.

They're not going to do anything that ludicrous to rock the boat. They'd lose far, far more than they could ever hope to gain.
Thank you all for your responses but I have another quesion. :) If my Steam account becomes disabled, does that mean my agreement with them is canceled?

Now figure out how to remove all games from an account, rather than how to directly delete the account.
