On Steam, there's quite a few deals but two in particular catch my eye. The Midweek madness Kalypso Pack, and the Hearts of Iron II and III deals. But I'm not sure which to go with since I've never really played around with any of these games.
I'm primarily a turn based strategy fan. I'm not really into real time strategy at all in the traditional sense (thinking Starcraft style here). So I'm not sure if I'll like many of the games on the Kalypso pack. I believe I've heard the Commandos games are different from traditional RTS games, but I'm not sure about them.
I do like simulation games though.
On the flipside, I've heard Hearts of Iron is basically Europa Universalis III but with a modern and combat heavy focus. I like Europa Universalis a lot so I think I could fit into HOI rather easily.
But we're talking 15 items (I already own Tropico reloaded & Pirate's Cove) versus two games. Are there a whole lot of duds in that pack, or are they mostly all winners?
