I'll take a shot at entering for this. While shooters usually are not my thing I enjoyed the first Farcry. So a free shot at the second one is not to bad.

Alright, thank you. Your description reminds me a bit of Just Cause 2, although I've only played parts of the demo.

I remember how the first Far Cry game started off relatively well before the plot deteriorated with the mutants and everything. I don't want to spend more time playing something like that.

No, it's not like that. Personally, although I like the original Far Cry, I find Far Cry 2 to be tons more fun. It doesn't have the same keyboard-smashing frustrations. It's just a nice sandbox with fantastic combat and visuals. Lotsa fun to play around with, and easy to let sit for a few months and come back to.

I am a big fan of the original, and still have the box on the top row of my shelf (where I keep my favorite boxed games), but I have never gotten around to trying the second game.
