RTS, I am not a fan of the genre. Tower Defense titles likely are the closest I do enjoy.

I prefer my games to be slow, so turn-based is my favorite. Although the Paradox-Games always were fun to play. Before they went to Steam...
Based on reality isn't a must, but i like to have an at least slightly realistic background. Civ-like, if you want.
But the good old Fantasy-General (SSI) left a very deep impression as well :D
Military, economic, espionage... as long as I turn my enemies to dust I don't prefer one over the other.
