As anyone who is familiar with the game Strife might now, the rights are pretty screwed. Well, some folks over at Doomworld seem to be making a little bit of progress in tracking them down. I figured maybe some people here would also like to take a stab at trying to find it, or just follow the thread for any progress that might be made.

The thread.

With ZDoom yes, I think progress is being made with Chocolate Doom too.
Chocolate Doom?
That is both the silliest and most brilliant thing I have ever heard.
I've been tracking the rights for months now. Only heard back from two former employees, neither knows what happened to the rights. I'm still on the case, though.

Read it in Tex Murphy's voice
;)

You know, maybe we could start a thread where we help each other track down rights holders of obscure games, then provide the information to GOG. Help their business dev team spend more time signing games and less time sleuthing. Besides, this kind of legwork can be kind of fun. Got any requests?

600 votes on the wishlist is quite good.

Nice. Always appreciate the tracking of rights for games that a lot of the community wants.

To clarify - it's a play of words on "vanilla" which is often used to describe the first unpatched release of a game. Chocolate Doom is a port which unlike other ports is supposed to perfectly capture the original experience (whereas other ports usually try to "improve" the experience by making the engine actual 3D, adding vertical aiming and all sorts of effects).

I had a feeling that's what it was about still I was maybe hoping for something along the lines of 'Savoy Truffle'.

Would've been awesome but sadly the truth is as boring as always.

You mean a Doom you can play then eat afterwards?
