I'm a little confused. I know nothing about this game, which is probably why I'm confused, however they talk of DLC. Will the GOG version be the full DLC package? How would GOG work with DLC?

This piqued my interest too. I hadn't heard of this game either but the Homeworld soundtrack is a favorite of mine.

The GOG version will not have the DLC at the start. I guess they have to make the DLC a separate download for people that have this version

I don't see why it would take a while. The DLC is either delivered by a client program or you get it as a standalone

Yeah, I am very intersted to see what will happen with this also. I am sure the reason they say the DLC will take a little time to implement, is because they will want to charge a little x-tra, just like they will on Steam, and still need to work out something with GOG to make this work. I am guessing that it will "take a little while" because GOG presently just doesn't do this. Personally, I think it would be great to see this implemented, (disregarding the whole "games that launch with DLC are incomplete games, and they are ripping us off" argument/discussion). While I think it's awesome that GOG generally sells it's titles already with many/most/or all expansions for older games, this will help bring things up to par with newer titles these days. Whether many of us like or dislike the whole DLC thingie, it's a fact of modern gaming life now, and personally, I would like the option of picking it up here on GOG if they make it available :)

Well, I agree also to an extent...I don't like to pay extra for content necessarily either. But unfortunately, DLC with new games is becoming the norm these days (not happy about either), but I am just saying that, for those who might want to purchase it, it would be nice to have that option. No one is making anyone buy it. In the past, if you wanted the newest expanision pack for a game, you had to buy it...whether it was on cd, dvd, digital, whatever. It's awesome that the majority of older games here on GOG (and some newer ones), that GOG offers the whole package, with everything included... even nicer, they sometimes secure it and just give it to you, when you already own the game (like, with Alien Crossfire for Alpha Centauri). In the case with Strike Suit Zero here, if the developers will have some DLC available after launch, and for the time being, are going to charge for it, and it'll be available elsewhere where I don't care to get it (say Steam for instancee, since I don't use Steam), I would still prefer to have the option to buy it here DRM free if I might want it. Maybe, after playing the game, I will find it sucks, in which case I wouldn't want it anyway. But if I love it, and there is more content available, I'd like the option of being able to obtain it. In the case of Alpha Centauri, I probably would have paid another buck, or maybe two for the Crossfire expansion, if that's what GOG had negotiated, to bring here; and been happy that it was made available to me. The fact that they added it free of charge is so much the better, and why I love it here. But, they may not always be able to do that, particularly with newer games...just my viewpoint on the matter, and of course, you are free to disagree

I look at it this way. If GOG sticks to their guns re: charged DLC, once the sales of the DLC run their course, it would likely eventually be added to the GOG release. If GOG gives in and charges for it, then suddenly the door is open for all DLC to be charged, maybe even expansion packs. DLC is a scourge to gaming. The day Bethesda decided to sell horse armor for $3 will forever go down in infamy in my book...

So we should be getting this game later today or tomorrow? I wonder when the Mac version will be ready.
