This is a suggestion, in my opinion GOG should sample their extras, but obviously so that it's not downloaded by people who don't own the game, for example, the wallpapers can be sized at a small resolution, enough to see but not enough to the point where everyone wants to use it. I suggest sampling because I think these extras can be a feature which can help someone to decide whether to purchase the retail version or the GOG version. Sure GOG is DRM free but so is most of the old games on GOG when purchased retail, so if I can be persuaded with the extra content I'm getting, it could well persuade me to purchase through GOG instead.
I really don't want them wasting their time with that.
There are way too many things they should do and/or fix first.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure they only work on compatibility, plus providing samples only takes a small amount of time. I actually just purchased Painkiller Black Edition, and I just viewed the wallpapers, they are good but just not my taste.

I'd prefer them work on compatibility, plus negotiating new games, the Gog downloader, personal messaging and the other things. While they are nice I don't think knowing what the wallpapers look like would affect many peoples decision to buy the game. Are you saying you wouldn't have bought Painkiller if you had seen the wallpapers in advance?
That's a great idea, and all they'd need is one person doing it, really. I would be worried about bandwitch dhou but with files so small, what the heck. Time will tell if something like this catches on, until then, community could take care of it (topic in every game's forum with link on youtube with sountrack, one wallpaper, one avatar etc. ... Question is what would GoG say to that,)

Painkiller was on sale so it's not really a good example. But here's another example, I purchased Desperados Wanted Dead or Alive on GOG. Now, I could have purchased this cheaper by retail, which I'd have preferred (I just like physical copies of what I purchase), but I really wanted those extras, such as HD wallpapers which would not be available for such old games anywhere else. So yes, it can affect me although it's just personal taste, I'm sure there are some other people out there.

While I love the extras, they don't factor into purchase for me. An idea would be to include examples with the screenshots. That might be the easiest/least time consuming. Just make them too crappy to copy.
