its OLD why is it so hard to get? have the gog people tryed talking to the people who own the rights?..ea i think..not to sure.. WE NEED THIS GAME!
No, the GOG people haven't done a thing to get the game. I mean it sucks.
Just download it from somewhere.

Begging someone to start selling out of print stuff is useless.
What's System Shock 2?
why does this thread remind me of another thread I made some time ago...

This may be the very first time anybody has ever mentioned this game here before. This post, nay, this topic, may very well be the most notable one to ever grace these forums.

Unfortunately, upon further research, it appears System Shock 2 was a terrible game, and the wanted list ranks it near the very bottom ten, along with the original System Shock. Since nobody wants it, surely it'll show up next week at the latest.

P.S. Sarcasm aside, the day System Shock 2 shows up here, it'll probably be $10. $6 would be about as literal a steal as abandonware. Assuming it shows up for $10, anybody who insists on waiting for a sale has some serious issues. If it shows up at $6 and they still want a sale... well, that would actually be very funny.

Do you have any clue how many different people and companies own the rights to different parts of this game? It's insane how messed up the IP to looking glass studio's old games are. A dev somewhere owns part of the engine, EA owns the IP, a composer owns the music, another person actually owns the Shodan's voice track. etc. etc.

I'm not saying it can't/won't happen, but it's not likely that GOG will get SS2 even if they can get EA on board.
Considering the amount of fans frothing at the mouth to obtain a legal digital copy, its astounding something hasn't been worked out.

But then EA have a reputation .....

It might not be only EA. Think of how long it took to Ridley Scott to finally to get to make his Final Cut and fully restored version of Blade Runner. The rights were behind so many people, who just didn't apparently come along, so they sat on their respective right partitions of the movie, while fans were crying to get the full package.
It's hard to get because it would be impossible for GOG to not regionally restrict it, and that's not something they're inclined to do.
