"GOGcom GOGcom
Big news! One of our most requested classic games is coming to @GOGcom on the 19th. Hint: its name starts with S "

Note it says name starts with S. Of the top 10 most wanted only two starts with S. Both System Shocks. Having said that, we have no idea what the count is like past the top 10....

We do, actually.
My bet is Slap Fighting Simulator. I never played this in the day but I heard it was a nice FPS (First Person Slapper)...
system shock would be obvious but if that was the case why wouldnt they tease more with it. even the little big adventure had that.

i'd say its a star wars game
How about these great old titles:
Street Fighter 2
Solomons Key
Sid Meiers' Civilization
SimEarth
Space Hulk
Stunts

All great games starting with "S" :)

much more unlikely - that would involve a huge brand new publisher to GOG and then they'd be dropping huge hints all over the place - unless GOG is going in for a big surprise. Therefore you're saying that it is unlikely to be System Shock because they should be teasing more for System Shock, but then proposing something for which they would be teasing far, far more. :)

I bet it's Slime Volleyball.

keeveek: Syndicate or System Shock. Everything else would be a sad joke, if they make such a big deal of it.
They mentioned a new publisher this week somewhere, and both of those are EA, which is already here. LucasArts with Secret of Monkey Island seems more likely.
avatar
bazilisek: Also, I don't want the damned special editions. I want the original games, ScummVM compatible. If I wanted the remakes, I'd own them already.
You don't? Buddy, you need to see a doctor. :P

I think the new publisher was Team 17.

Oh, that might be it. My mind has been in standby-mode for a while, I barely register time passing even with all stuff that happens and bringing proof of the former.

Street Cleaner Simulator, or maaaybee Secret of Syndicate Shock. But they did say that it's one of their most-requested games, so it's probably Street Cleaner.

Pheace: What would you want from ScummVM in particular? (I'm not too familiar with it)
avatar
grviper: It's multiplatform. Also has a decent graphics filter selection, you can play with a gamepad etc. Anyway the assholes at LA deliberately kill compatibility with ScummVM in re-releases. Even the oldies like Loom on Steam aren't SV-combatible since the data structure has been changed.
Ahh, those are fair points then :)
Although I wouldn't play Monkey Island with a gamepad xD But the Multi-platform is naturally sweet if you need it.
avatar
bazilisek: Which would not be a disappointment in the slightest.
avatar
Ubivis: depends... I have the special edition on steam (can be played with new graphics or original ones)... so no need for me at the moment to a second copy of it.
Ah, but Secret of MI would lead to MI2 being released, and the special edition of that was terrible. Missing intro, broken iMuse. I believe iMuse is even broken if you switch it back to original graphics.
avatar
Pheace: As the guy already said, the remake includes the original... so where's the problem?
Also, 2 is kind of broken even if you switch it to original graphics and original sound.
