Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. Don't want to go the ultrabook route for what this is meant to be [not least as I am also in the market for a desktop PC - that I'd assemble myself - so my current laptop will do as the in-between solution for a while.]
Been trolling local shops when I could the last few days; seeing what's available and getting a bit of a first hand look at things you mentioned here. I know the waiting game isn't necessarily grand with hardware, but I think I'll just wait until April, when the Lenovo Yoga HD+ 10inch is released; and if just to see if there's a bit of a firesale of the previous yoga version happening. I'd wish they'd update the 7" version, too, at the same time, of course, but alas.

Completely different question re: Android tablets. Is it possible, given it is open source, to install the latest version on a tablet and through that 'replacing' whatever modified version of the OS comes from the manufacturer? [And if only after the warranty has run out; part of the Yoga Tablet criticism was that Lenovo's changes added little, but ate quite a bit of the processing power.]
