misteryo: Well, that was me. I'm sorry if you feel slighted. But I thought that I was helping. I certainly didn't mean to insult you.

Why wouldn't you want customer support to see this thread? Companies care about bad publicity, and they might be more likely to help, knowing that their actions are now public.
I'm sorry, my response was overblown. It doesn't matter that much.

I would rather have waited to see how they respond to my reply to their email, but never mind.

Well, I'm sorry once again. Peace.
Well, at least we still got Taleworlds.
The last time I passed by their store looking to get the Back to the Future game for my sister, I found their shipping costs to be so ridiculously overpriced that I never really checked back. So while I am disappointed to see their "bonus" DVD copy offer gone (apparently for their earlier games), especially if it's out of the blue, I'm not really too bothered about it.
Like I said in that other thread, what I can't understand is that if they can't provide the discs for their paying customers anymore, why can't they at least give them access to their content digitally? Would it be so hard to add them to the customers' Telltale account? And why can they only provide the DRM-free versions on disc for their direct customers and in exchange for high shipping fees while the digital versions in the Telltale account are DRM-ridden when they are DRM-free for GOG or Humble customers?

If I ever buy another game from them, you can be sure I will see to it that I don't have to deal with them directly anymore. I would rather have part of the money go to GOG, who provide actual customer service, or to Humble, because as a HIB customer I will have to pay less and I will get better products than that SecuRom trash from Telltale's own website.

Reneging on a deal is a "Telltale" sign that they're up to no good. :P

I see what you did there...
So they made a mistake? I guess that would be a Telltale boner.

Now there's a Telltale groaner. lol

Hope you do get some kind of decent resolution out of them, SirPrimalform. Agreed that you should at least have gotten some kind of warning that the deal was going to expire
I know the telltale walking dead game has got a dvd release, I have no idea though if its drm free though.

It got a retail release, but Telltale never did a disc for their own customers.

SirPrimalform: I just heard back from Telltale support and they're refusing to honour their collectors' DVD thing. I'm really pissed off about this because as far as I'm concerned I'd already paid for it, I just hadn't paid the shipping yet. If they won't send me my disc then I'm asking for a refund.
I asked Telltale support about this and they answered:

Unfortunately, we currently no longer offer the disc versions of our older games on our website (currently this offer is only for The Walking Dead: Season 2 and The Wolf Among Us). Purchasing the digital games from our website did not inlcude the disc version, but it allowed customers to then purchase the DVD version for free if they decided to purchase that version as well (pay only shipping and handling).
Technically that's true, you still had to buy the discs for "free" in order to get them. If they don't offer the discs anymore, the bonus of being able to buy them for "free" is worthless, but probably no breach of the contract. So I fear we're out of luck. :/

Wow...2-3 years is a long time to not complete an order. What were you waiting for and what is the standard layaway policy?

Gah, well I'm done with them for good then.
