It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

GameRager: Maybe Gog could add a feature to type in a username to send to or add to the friends list in the PM area?
avatar
cogadh: Yes, even that would be a huge improvement over the current method.
Amazing, we actually AGREED on something. And you're not the first today either.....so, offtopic but: Liking the new me so far? :D

iuliand: You add them by saying "hey, I added you in my conversations (buddy) list" :)
avatar
cogadh: No, I mean how you have to find a post by the person on the forums, then click the PM button in that post to add them. It would be much easier to just have a user list, instead of having to hunt down some random post. It's fine if you are taking a conversation from a particular thread into "privacy mode", but what if you just want to contact someone that you aren't currently conversing with in a thread?
Yes, would have been nice to have a field to fill in with the other user's nick, or maybe the possibility to choose from a list. Anyway it's not a big issue. If you keep all your former conversations it is very unlikely you will need to contact some other user without first seeing his posts in the forums.
I think they wanted to avoid creating a definitive user's list available for the public. This way they avoid spamming because there is no list.
As a matter of fact as I think more about how this PM system is implemented I'm starting to think it is pure genius... it avoids spamming, ensures privacy, does not reveal more that is really needed...

RafaelLopez: You just asked for something that probably will flood you with PMs :)

wpegg: I'm really not that popular. No-one would PM me unless they had reason to, if necessary I can turn on a GameRager level of belligerence, with far more creativity in the insults.

However the notifications are really discreet, it would be nice if we could at least specify we wanted a big sign popping up.
Maybe an icon/button at the top like the one showing the forum replies you have yet to read.
Oh my God! My rep is gone and my account has been cleared of all my games! Damn you, Lopez!

Only if you could choose yourself if you want a big pop up or a discreet notice like the one we have. I absolutely hate big pop ups if I have a message, notice or some other thing like that.

I already suggested a small notice for PMs on the site. :)
La la la, feel free to write ;)
And as mentioned before, some notification when having a new message would be nice.

But there is. A "messages" flag appears at the top of the website.
I thought you did have a new message at the top, like when you get a forum reply...

Then....please make a bigger flashy flag :D

Ok, but how you delete a conversation? "Clear messages" option only clears the messages but the conversation remains.
I have the exact same problem, iuliand.

It looks like you can't delete them. That's going to get problematic if you use the PM system a lot with many different people that you only talk to once or twice.

EDIT - Blocking people does not even remove them from the conversation list. That is going to become VERY problematic.
