This thread is a thank you thread to read for those who gift others games. Post your thanks here!

Someone whom asked not to be named gifted me Might & Magic VIII - Day Of The Destroyer.

To keep my end of the bargain, I shall now do a Waddler Dance conveyed to that kind soul.

Note that I really did dance when I got the email though there was also movement of the feet.

THANK YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!

Very nice. One of the best little communities around methinks. I have never been gifted a game myself but have gifted quite a few and its really nice to see a fellow gamer get all happy over their gift. Its wierd as I dont think I would or have done it any other forum I am a member of. Must be something in the water here lol.

It wasn't me, but I'd intended to gift you a game yesterday. I wasn't sure whether your wishlist was up-to-date, and I was not-so-subtly trying to tell you I wanted to gift you something on your wishlist. I'm not too well on funds right now, so it looks like somebody beat me and saved me the trouble! XD

Well, I've updated your wishlist and games owned with everything I can deduce about you, which is that you've been gifted Might & Magic VIII yesterday, and that you at least own Tyrian 2000, Beneath a Steel Sky, Lure of the Temptress, Teenagent, and Might & Magic VIII.

Lol thanks ever so much!!!. I got worried there as I though you meant I had been gifted games before in the past and I was lying. Seriously though, THANK YOU! Totally skint at the moment so you just made my week a lot better. Never played any of the Space Rangers before, my first gift on GOG woot woot!

Well, I'd like to thank Runehamster again for setting up a little contest he did and gifting me Avencast. I installed it as soon as I downloaded it and I've been having fun so far. My five button mouse makes spell casting easy and I'm pretty sure I'll soon finish the game... as a soulmage. I'll let it rest for a while to forget a bit about it and then replay it as a bloodmage.

So thanks again, Hamster!
The only downside to me downloading my new game was my wait to play it. For the 4 hours it downloaded I was like.... *EYES BULGE* Download faster! At 90-95% it slowed to a snail's pace. Which was.... torture.
BIG THANKS TO KHALAQ FOR THE UFO SERIES

*hugs Khalaq*

As soon as you told me that I went to my wishlist and fixed it. Seems the other stuff I was messing around with two days ago didn't save when I was trying to reorganize. Fear Mentok, the Mind Taker for he took my wishlist and narrowed it like the Nile!

Damuna: *Cough*

akwater, nmillar, GoJayus2025, GameRager, LordKuruku, Zchinque, Cassidy, orcishgamer, Vorgoeth, Voight-Kampff, reaver894, Carnival73, and...xyem?
Uhhh... anything I can help you with this fine day, my dear friend Damuna?

EDIT: Oh, you're the one I made that little "-Gifts-" logo in the games owned list for (since you had a blank area with a comment, I thought an actual separator would be better, but kept the comment). So that's the list of people you've gotten gifts from, I should've guessed.

Man, I need to start having a likable personality. I've gifted out triple of what I've received, I help manage the wishlist, and I try not to act like, as CaptainGyro put it, "a tool" and a "douche", but I guess there's just no winning people over sometimes, is there? XD

As long as I'm here, I'll thank Andy_Panthro for gifting me "Fallout" as prize in the picture caption contest, nmillar for gifting me "Rise of the Triad: Dark War" for no other reason than for being awesome, Hillsy_ for gifting me "Stonekeep" six days before my birthday (HE WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE ENTIRE WORLD TO GIVE ME ANYTHING ON MY BIRTHDAY!), and thewishingwell, for posting a code for the "Pinball Gold Pack".

<3 You four are the most awesome members on GOG. Congratulations! <3

Damuna: Snip.
I still owe you $1! Or is it $2?
Post edited April 09, 2011 by nmillar

Damuna: Last I checked it was £1.10 - nothing on GOG seems to have hit that figure since then, though.
Lol, cool! I haven't forgotten, so just let me know whenever you see something you want! :)

Damuna: Also, I'm sorry! Once I have online banking again, you'll be the first person on my list.
That's fine. I've already gotten myself quite a library since I joined, the need for the generosity of others isn't quite what it was a few months ago, though I may be $400 richer if people were feeling particularly giving to me during the holidays.

What can I say? It was a huge sale, I wanted to take advantage of it and have at least a year's supply of gaming and not have to worry about waiting for any more sales. I bought everything that looked and sounded interesting to me, and possibly anything my friends might like, since they seem to enjoy my game library almost as much as I enjoy perusing through their refrigerators and cupboards...

I can't lie, obviously I have plenty of GOG's I haven't even played, but I've bought few games since then, and I'll be ready the day an Interplay sale finally shows up!

My funds are still rather low after that little shopping spree, sadly I haven't gifted much this year, but hopefully that should change by the latter half of this year. Again, no promises if there's an Interplay sale this year. ;)

I never got to buy any PC games during my childhood. Everything was either shareware or pirated, as my dad believed that games would ruin his computer (...and I'd often play in secret, since he'd link any game playing to his difficulty with computers and beat me for it!). A good number of games, such as Doom, Heretic, Hexen, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Descent, HoMM3, and Rise of the Triad, I had played demos of several times. A few games I had managed to pirate or found used copies of in thrift stores and was able to buy with lunch money during my later years.

I just plain missed out on a lot of the games I have here on GOG. I remember wanting to get the full version of many shareware games, but I never got the chance to register any of them. Now it's free, almost all of the games I'd wanted back then are either free or dirt cheap, that's pretty cool.

So yeah, putting it that way, it's not that much to spend when it makes up for years of not buying any PC games. :P
