The third one, Shadow Magic, seems to generally be considered the best, but I myself have a soft spot for the original.
Nice, you own all games from this promo.
Have fun and don't forget to check out our next offer.

aymerict: I have never played these games, is it similar to Heroes of Might & Magic?
Not really. AoW is much less abstract and substantially slower than HoMM. The closest analog is Master of Magic (which is awesome, and so is AoW).

The best in the series is Shadow Magic, although all of these are a steal, especially at this price.
Dammit GoG I hadn't picked these up yet....

First Broken Sword, then the EA announcement with DK and WC and now this.....

If you tack on to that it hasn't been long since TW and TW2 plus the JoWood promo (what's happening with them btw?)

It's been a good few weeks for GoG... less so for my free time...
Im gonna pass on this offer.

It's closer to Master of Magic.

If you don't know that game, think of Heroes of Might & Magic with looser army management (not need of a heroe to lead your armies), no numbered stacks of units (each unit is individual and while they can be in the same army, you can't combine them in a stack), arguably more involved tactical combat, a greater emphasis on magic and in the case of the later games, more involved city development, some research and the ability to build new cities (which is not balanced as the AI doesn't build new cities).

Depends who you ask.

It's a contest between the original and Shadow Magic.

The Wizard's Throne is not a contender, because while it's a great game, Shadow Magic feels like a successful expansion of that game (extremely similar, but with expanded play mechanics).

The original feels more like an hybrid between Master of Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic while Shadow Magic tends more toward Master of Magic in similarities.

Still no manuals?
Hmm own all three from GOG. Good allows me to build up the funds to maybe buy some EA games. End of financial year is approaching and my government will want a sizable cut of my money first :(
Congratulations! You already own all these titles! Now you can go buy the new EA games you wanted! W007!
Interplay sale so we can get their games on sale before they go bankrupt? Okay, maybe next week then...
I'm in for Shadow Magic at least this weekend. I've been eyeing this series for a while, glad I haven't pulled the trigger yet :)
Will Wonders never cease?
Euphoria from yesterday hasn't worn off yet, passing up promo for upcoming EA titles.
Have all these on disk. They're worth the full price, much less the sale price!
