Got released today on steam! I'm surely gonna purchase it seeing how this is a Ron Gilbert/Double Fine collaboration. What about you guys? What's your opinion ?
Will wait for reviews.
I saw a live stram yesterday. it looked good. But I only watched a coupele of minutes so no real effect, yet.
'Salright, I'm just getting frustrated by the gameplay - mainly backtracking (sometimes even triple backtracking).
Was hoping for a GoG release. But oh well, just bought. Bought since it's a Ron Gilbert game which means must have for me.
I'll buy it again if it hits the humble bundles or GoG.
I'll buy it because its Ron Gilbert but its also steam so I'll wait and see for a little longer before getting over steam evilness
I'll wait until it is available DRM free.

... And a GOG version. I won't make the mistake of buying The Cave in a Steam-ified form.

Question is, is it actually any good? So tempted by pre order discounts....
I hate it for wasting a great title. I always wanted to make a game called "The Cave". ;(
Know what, I'll refer to "The Cave" as "The Hole" and call my game "The Cave". There, problem solved.

Oh thats good. So we wont see it tossed into a humble bundle as a end of life game anytime soon . if ever :)

Published by SEGA, so GOG release chances are next to zero.

I got it gifted to me, and what I've played of it so far; it's fairly average. Nothing truly special yet.
checkout a few review in youtube, the game is very repetitive and not all that it was shown to be, but from the dialogue of the cave itself (yes he is the narrator) its atleast funny, but thats not enough to play and repeat the game with other characters

I had a quick go now, and it seems like a fine puzzle platformer. The designs are quite nice, though not as nice as Trine. I can see how there may be a lot of backtracking, and I have left to see how the different characters will approach different puzzles later to warrant more playthroughs. I am playing the Timetravler, Monk and the Twins, I really like the character design on the Twins. The narrator is very nice, I would say almost as good as in Bastion, and the humour is about right for me.

My problem is that it still seems very unoptimised. I had to take the resolution down 1366x768, and turn off all effects - and it still moves a bit iffy.
