SimonG: How many gamers between 15 and 25 have played Blade Runner? How many even know there is a game of that movie?

jamyskis: I think you'll find that at least half of that age group has never watched or even heard of the film.
It still has the best rat-on-a-plank puzzle ever conceived!

staticblast: Speaking of unavailable old games, I recently read somewhere that Caesar (the original Impressions games one) was released as freeware. Is it still freeware, or was this one of those deals that got rescinded once Activision absorbed Sierra?
Yes, it's still freeware. And Ceasar II is abandonware. You can grab both from Abandonia.

StingingVelvet: The answer to "what is the best adventure game with a rat-on-a-plank puzzle" is ALWAYS Blade Runner, abandonware or not.

I just conducted a poll on this matter, here are the results:
100.0% of the people asked have heard of both, seen a few short scenes from the movie (though they did not remember the occasion) and have never been particularly interested in either.
The age distribution of participants had its peak at the upper end of your given spectrum, with zero variance.

Are they really that good?

The movie is utterly brilliant (imo). The game is also very good (again, imo) also it was quite different back from the standard of its time.
