Around Christmas time I like to put up my Kindle books for free so that those without much cash left in their wallets can still get a read. And this year you can preview the game I'm building of the book (release date some time early 2031 :-D).

I've been slowly but steadily working on a new edit for The Darkest Wand. It's not done yet, but you can read the already-published version for free today and tomorrow:

Also, I've been building an RPG Maker game of The Darkest Wand. It carries many of the same themes, but adds to it. It's nowhere near complete and there may be some game-breaking bugs, but it still has a fair amount of charm and fun.

Cheers. I had a quick look, but I could not get The Darkest Wand to run, it is missing RGSS104E.dll. However, I had a look in the graphics folder, there are some nice artwork there, is it your own?

It's a shame Amazon doesn't take points from GOG: I can't pick your book as I'm not in USA :(

A lot of people who purchase from Amazon U.S (that are from the rest of the world) use fake addresses such as Mc Donalds etc. It works.

Yep, I used to... but now I have two more kindles for my parents and they don't understand a word in english, so I have to have the Amazon account linked to Amazon.es

And if I change the country linked to my account too much it could raise suspicions :(

Maybe someone else here might have some way around it, or could explain it better than i can. Good luck with it.

It's available in US, UK, India, German, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Brazil and Canada in their respective amazon sites. I have this file in my System32 folder. I was looking on-line and it looks like I have to manually put it into the installation. If you wouldn't mind, try putting it in the installation directory and/or the system32 directory and see if that gets it running.

Hmm... now it says RGSS-RPT Standard not found...

Well that thing did not do what I thought it would. Looks like you also need the whole RTP. That is available here:

Sorry for all the hassle! I really thought it'd compile all together.

If it doesn't work after that, then I'll just scrap it for now and work it on it tonight to get it working with the initial install.


On the plus side, it really is an old-school game. You have to tinker with it for an hour just to get it working!
