I'm thinking about trying to set up a gifting chain. It would be fun, everyone wins, and it would really boost GoG. I have no problem starting it but I would be open to how to execute it so that it moves smoothly and quickly. So, any suggestions?

Those chains always have 1 flaw. The Chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.

It is easy to set up, you say you are gifting a game for up to $x.xx. The next one posts his mail address, what game he likes and says as well how much he is gifting. You send him his gift, and so on.

But this chain may break easily when someone comes in, takes his game and leaves...

Someone might have to start a new one.

Possibility #2:

You would start with a free available Gift Code and post your wish.
The next participant would gift you that game and would wish another game.
Third comes in, gifting the game of #2 and wishing the next.

Should work the other way around then. Say you give a gift to Tulivu, I give one to you, someone else gives one to me, and so on. So basically except Tulivu who started the topic, everyone would need to gift a game before receiving one :)

The chain will break when the topic dies as is with all topics. But you never know who'll come and resurrect it.

I've just been ninja'd by edit :)

this, posted it in the same second ;)
Thanks, all. Hopefully it grabs a decent number.
I'll look around and might just revive an old one and establish new rules.

The thing is, that way around the chain may branch, when suddenly two or more people gift the previous gifter simultaneously.
In this case there should be a rule:

1. First post that you are gifting the game
2. Wait for 3-5 minutes
3. If no one posted anything, gift it!

This existed at some point and worked quite well until people lost interest. What the heck, just start another one and see how it goes.
