da187jimmbones: I don't believe in god or heaven at all. I suppose I could be wrong, but my tendency is to pretty strongly disbelieve in either of those two things.
That said, if someone did believe in God and that God was responsible for all things, then what that guy said would be completely consistent with that belief. I think they believe that God intends all that happens to happen. All he did was vocalize one of the more horrible events that can happen - a rape.
Everyone gets offended and outraged at everything said these days. The guy was not condoning rape or supporting rape in even the slightest way. What he said is consistent with his belief. If you have ever been through an event extremely violent and brutal and toxic, you'd know that something good can come from even those situations.
Much, much terribleness comes as well, but this guys point is that there can be a good that results in
addition to the extreme terribleness.
Be reasonable and you can easily understand that this (what I said above) is what he intended with his message. Of course he did not intend to condone rape in even the slightest way. And that he did intend, his ultimate point, was that life is very precious and so forth and that such "miracles (of life)" can are valuable no matter what their source, and that we should love them all the same.
Approaching this situation with reason and common sense should cause any outrage or offense in anyone to disappear.
This. Now can we please talk about something else? Like the fact that I bought Megabyte Punch yesterday and it's great?
