The other day, while I was struggling to write a few sentences in English, I began to think how great that would be to have a piece of machinery as the one used in the Matrix movies to learn new skills. One second and: "I know Kung-Fu... err... English". So...

... TO PARTICIPATE, tell me what gadget, appliance or machinery that you've found in a sci-fi movie or book you'd like to own and what would you do with it (humorous responses highly appreciated).

As for the device... Hmmm... I'd like to have a Molecular Disruption Device like in Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game". I'd use it to blow up Pluto, and be hailed as a hero for finally ending the "Is it/Isn't it a planet" controversy.

I think it'd have to be the memory wipe gizmo from men in black - useful in so many ways on a day to day basis that I can't even begin to elaborate on what I'd do with it other than; "NO GOOD!"

Not strictly a piece of tech, but there's this eerie world/dimention/city in Jacek Dukaj's The Plunderer's Daughter (loosely translated title, there's no English version as far as I'm aware) which is basically a compressed version of every city on Earth (and other worlds). That would make sightseeing much less of a pain without all the commute. :P

So I definitely want the IT-O Interrogator (the Interogation Bot) that Darth Vader uses on Princess Leia to get the coordinates of the not so hidden, not so rebellious headquarter base.

What I want to do with it?
Actually nothing really, it just has to follow me around looking cool and intimidating.

Just imagine,
you have an appointment with your boss, and while you sit in his office discussing your upcoming promotion the IT-O floating silently on an eye level, pointing his syringes and nasty pointy things at your boss.

Other than that, torturing sexy rebels is always a great past time, so I wouldn't oppose doing that if the opportunity shows itself. :D

Oh and I'm in for, well any game mentioned above and compatible with my IT-O OS.

1) The next 3 Interplay games: Stonekeep + Evolva + Jagged Alliance 2 Unfinished Business would be my first choice but it' doesn't really matter much...
2) Divine Divinity is on an extraordinary well fought 2nd place.
