I tried going to that Play.com site, but every time I try to access the game page, it boots me back to the entrance. I suppose it hates my IP or something.

No matter. If the game doesn't go on sale, I'll just ask a friend who lives in the UK if he can help me out.

Ouch! Mexico region restricted? Usually they get included with USA so keep trying everywhere.

The EA store CHARGES ME IN EUROS.

I'm used to it. :(

Orryyrro: Not sure if it could actually count as a terrible port, even if it was buggy and such, since the 360 version kind of sucks in comparison.
Serve me right for passing on conjecture.

I honestly never followed it, it was an impulse buy. Never even played it much myself, I was just passing on what I recall from reading the steam forum for it. First thing I visit before pressing 'buy now'. I should know better though than to repeat what I read there.

Nice to know there's some that like it and it's worth revisiting.

The only "problem" with the PC version is that it is definitely optimized for a 360 controller. Other than that they fixed a lot of things about it.

Porkdish: I bought it for $12.49 during the steam sale in December '09. From Australia.
I also bought during the steam Christmas '09 sale but mine was $9.99

I think you go too far. The battle mode is most natural with a joypad (defaults to 360 controller but my dualshock2 was easy to setup), but walking around the overworld is tiresome without mouselook. I was happiest with a mouse + joypad combo.

I suppose that's a fair assessment. The battle system is very good too.

Unfortunately the %30 markup to the AUS publishers who pursue region pricing adopt, often applies to sales too.

It can be heart breaking to see the occasional 'sale' on there and realise that the huge price cut equates to a '~$5 off what you should be paying for it anyway sale'.

EA have been dancing with it for the last couple of years. I expect just before release DA2 will jump to ~$70+ over here. Once our brick&mortar stores try to stick us for $80-100 for it.

%30 is a mild mark up though. Sega are 'encouraging' Australians to spend $89.99 US to buy Shogun Total War 2. You can buy it for $47 at other online retailers.

Ok, there are no UK sites that are allowed to ship Last Remnant to NZ.

I did some research if I could figure out as to why.

I searched all NZ retailers for Last Remnant and lo and behold we have it over here but ONLY in XBox format for no less than $80.

What's the best way to force sell something you want to sell? Drown out all other options and herd the consumer like cattle.

Dude, simply put, Square is just not tubular enough for me to spend over $400 for a RedRing 360.

i think I forgot to mention that the 360 version isn't just bad in comparison to the PC version, it's just plain bad; buggy, awkward scaling of enemies actually making leveling up a bad thing, an odd party management system, noticeable texture pop-in....just say no to the 360 version.

Orryyrro speaks the truth. The 360 release of this game was stillborn. The PC version was released many months later and fixed the game's most egregious flaws (not because PC is superior [which it is ;) ] but because they got to finish the game). Still, not everyone will like it. Last Remnant was an experimental RPG for Squenix in both engine (unreal3) and gameplay. But I'd preoder a sequel just to see a version 2 of the battle system.

I'd love another game with it's battle system, I loved figuring out how to best flank and intercept the enemy with the requirement to commit to attacks for fear of getting raidlocked.
