Saw this off TIGSource, and this freeware adventure game really impressed me with it's quality. It's very creepy, somewhat gloomy, and moving at the same time. I'm not the type to normally be impressed by freeware adventure games, as a lot of them that I've tried just don't have the quality to boast about, but The Marionette really made me play all the way to the end. Really a fun experience :)

Cool, another AGS adventure. Looks interesting too.
Thanks a bunch, dling right now ;)
No problem. It's really good, for all the artsy fartsy style that it has. If it was longer, I'm very sure it would have made it as a commercial game.
The ending - or rather, the appropriate one since there are quite a number of endings - really moved me. Beautiful story.

Damn, I downloaded this months ago and still haven't installed it. Curse you game backlog! I guess I'll dig in this weekend.
This is such a brilliant game.
This had really psychologicaly freaked me out several times during playthrough.
It has such a brilliant sense of atmosphere that is really creepy and tense but never to the point where it is too much.
Once again, this is an AGS game. Some of these games are absolutely brilliant.
If you enjoyed this, give Mcarthy Chronicles, or Downfall a try. Time Gentlemen, Please! was created in this engine too.

Before I began posting here, the AGS forums were my regular hangout. I was always fascinated by creative people like this, and talking to them was pretty cool. I love many of their games, and it's great for people who don't have a lot of cash to burn, as many of them are free and run on just about any Windows computer. If you can find Prodigy and Grundislav's Ben Jordan games, those are worth playing.
Also give 'Nelly Cootalot - Spoonbeaks Ahoy!' a go. One of my favourite AGS games.

Thanks for the tip! My wife loves these games, so I will get for her and maybe play myself as well.
Cheers!

It also seems to me that the AGS people aren't as stuck up as a lot of other indie developers. It comes across as a really "by gamers, for gamers" community.

I finally managed to finished this.
I'm so glad there are talented people out there willing to make a game such as this free for everybody. With a couple more rooms and just a bit more polish they could have gone commercial with it for sure.
Nice endings and a very nice choice of easter eggs too.
Thanks again mate for putting this one on my radar. Very nice, definitely keeping it on my HD.

No problem, glad you enjoyed it brother. The "nice" ending is beautiful indeed.
From what I understand, Team Effigy should be releasing a version with voice acting too, so stay tuned.
Sorry to dig up an old post but I was just thinking about recommending this game on the forum. A quick search shows that lowyhong already has.

If you haven't tried this game yet I highly reccommend it. Great atmosphere and great story.
