I just wanted to say I am surprised Lionhead Studios' 'The Movies' and it's expansion pack - 'Stunts and Effects' - are not availably here on Gog.com. I mean, the game is underrated, but it has certain appeal, and would certainly deserve more people to give it a try.
Not to mention, it could include all the mods and modification that are- or were - availably on the Web. I mean, I haven't seen that game for some time in shops, so I think that you.... you know.
Actually that would be awesome to have on GOG. I still have the boxed version of The Movies. just don't have the expansion.
Currently the Mac version is held by Feral and its avail on the Mac App store. Does that affect discussions to bring both the PC & Mac versions to GOG since it is held by two different companies, meaning two different licensing arrangements?

and I also want to see it here on GOG because I never played this game
It used to be on Steam but it was removed for some reason

It's a very nice game, especially because of the movie editor. I have it boxed but i don't have the stuns expansion which is nowhere to be found so i'd definitely buy it here.
Totally forgot about this game.

Put in my vote for it. Thx.
It's kind of half a package now, since The Movies Online was shut down pre-2010; along with some of the unlockables that were available through movie 'reviews'.

Real shame official modding tools were never released, but a whole bunch of people managed custom props, costumes, things like that.

A damn shame, a game that factored heavily in my development as a gamer. The movie editor's surprisingly flexible, and the management game isn't half-bad either.
During it's run, some nice fan-made movies came out of that. Even I made a fair bunch of them (although not nice, good or even watchable in any way, shape or form).

Anyway, It's a memorable and good game and it deserves to be here.

Also, I have both boxed original and the expansion pack. Bwahaha!
I have the original without the expansion too, would certainly buy a complete edition here.
Pretty decent game. I've also got it boxed, but don't remember what version. I have to be in the right mood to play this type of game... then I grind it out for about 12 hours or so straight and then don't come back for years ;)
Same boat as a lot of people, have the original version but without the expansion, was fun once you get past some of the limitations (they promised way more than they could deliver at the time if I recall)

Really? Has this happened with more games?

There's been more than 1 case of a game eventually getting removed from Steam for some reason yeah. People who bought it can still download it though. There are actually people who own The Movies on Steam, just not that many since it was only available for a short time.
The Game is really good and sadly underrated but it still has a great and active online community called themovies3d. I posted a movie there made with the help of „The Movies“ game a few months ago called „Fatal Contact“ and I'm very pleased with the number of views I got so far. You can not only post your movies on this site but also download all sorts of mods for the game, not only old ones but also those that were made just a few days ago! This website is the ultimate proof that there are a lot of people still out there that want to play this game, but I don't think that the game should be only available on Gog.com, it should also receive a worthy sequel!
