Navagon: As much as I like to laugh at the conservative nature of US censorship, the censorship in the Witcher was entirely self imposed by CDPR. There never was any need for it and I doubt that this will have changed with the sequel.
I think it was Atari that asked for it actually, and yes it was never needed. The uncut version got an M rating from the ESRB.

Even though Atari is also publishing The Witcher 2 I would guess it will be uncut this time since the original got an M rating uncut after all. If it is censored by Atari again I'll just buy it but download the UK version... sorry CDPR, I'm not playing an edited version.
Even if it is censored I'd bet cash monies that CDPR will release an optional patch later that removes it, just like they did with the first one. Though really I thought the censorship was very tastefully done, even if it was unnecessary.
