I've tried to get one game to work like three days now, but no avail. The game just won't start, if my internet security was on. Game did work fine when the security was off, so I cleverly came to conclusion that the antivirus/firewall does not compute with the game's DRM.

Next natural step was to contact the support for the antivirus program. After a few mails there and some back, I realised that they had no idea what's wrong. They tried to help me, so points for their effort.

Anyhow, I was out of ideas. As a last desperate measure, I registered myself to the game's own forum and poured my heart out. Surprised I was, since the first response for my post was from one of the makers of the game, asking to email him directly. So I did.

After a couple of emails, he asked me to try the demo for their game, since if the demo worked, then the problem was with the DRM. Well, take a guess, did the demo work?

Of course it did. But the next one was something that I did not expect. He offered to compensate my difficulties. I was stunned. That really made my day, since it was something that he really didn't need to do, since it was not his fault. But he did, and from now on, I will support their game studio with all my heart (and wallet).

So there actually are good people in game industry (beside CD Projekt and GOG staff, please feel free to send free copy of Witcher 2 for me for the slight butt lickage :D )

Shira Oka - Second Chances by Okashi Studios
I think it's a pretty sad state of affairs that this is considered to be so generous.

That being said, it is quite generous because it's a hell of a lot more than most developers will do.
I'll use this chance give a shout-out to Revolution as well. I contacted them about my copy of Broken Sword 3 being infected with StarForce (doesn't work on W7), and after a couple of pleasant emails they decided to get me a Steam activation key for the game. Huzzah!

Okay, now I'm just scared. Is it the apocalypse? Hold me.

I put my arms around you tenderly. With my right hand I begin to softly pat you on your back. I lean forward and whisper in your ear: "there, there... I'm here for you."
*slips GoJays a rubber and vanishes into the night
