I know that not even the official Thief games are available (yet, I hope), but do you think it's possible for Thief2x: Shadows of the Metal Age to be added to GOG. It certainly fits the scope of the site, there's only a question about legality. I think it'd be really nice that if the official Thief games are added, for this unofficial expansion to be added as well (together with the soundtrack and making of videos and materials). What do you think?
EDIT: Also, any new news about Thief on GOG?

If it's unofficial then it can't be sold here. You'd be better off trying to get it uploaded to fileplanet, bigdownload and the like, if it's not already there.
Sorry, this is the community forums for discussion.

Well, obviously it can't be sold — it's free on their website — but I was wondering if it's legally possible. I personally think it would be a good addition to GOG, alongside the other Thief games.

My point is: GOG, being a digital distributor, aren't going to want to piss off publishers. It's just a completely pointless and counter-productive thing to do when a link in the relevant forum to a download site would suffice.
Getting the real Thief 2 on GOG would be awesome, though Thief 1 and 2 have been re-released so many times it isn't hard to get a disc version for cheap.

Contact the guys at Desura. They'd probably want to distribute it.
Technically there's probably no reason why it couldn't be included as an extra, though that would require that both the mod team and Square Enix gave their okay (and that the mod doesn't use any copyrighted materials from other sources).
But as Eidos (Square Enix) aren't yet on GOG, the whole discussion is a bit futile. Besides, I don't think GOG have ever included mods as extras (instead they have sometimes featured articles recommending various mods for games on GOG).
From memory, Thief 2X requires the Thief II game data, making it a mod rather than a standalone game. GOG doesn't sell or bundle any mods or other unofficial materials.

They label it as an expansion, and those also require the original game in order to work (usually). But yeah, it most likely is technically 'just' a very big mod.

Well, that pretty much settles it. :(

Depends, they did include and inofficial patch in Warlords battlecry III, so there's a small chance that they'll include a mod as a separate download or featured material if the publisher agrees.
i don't think this will happen unless the mod fixes some issues or is vital to make the game work on newer systems.
