Ya it should arrive on GOG eventually, but in the mean time, has anyone tried The Dark Mod?
I've been out of touch with Doom 3 for a long time already, but jebus, most comments I've read about The Dark Mod give the impression that it's Thief II 3.0; in other words it's a professional product of years of love and labor, and it's something any Thief fan should enjoy. In any case, I'm currently trying to get it to work since it always crashes to desktop when I try to load it up.
Anyone else here tried it? Comments?
(yea this thread isn't about Thief at all lol)

Did make an attempt on the mod using the Steam version of Doom 3, but the damn thing wouldn't work. Haven't tried it yet on my new system though.

Ya it's a joke man, he's our resident cat though, and we know cats aren't very smart, so you're not wrong on that note anyway :P lol
By the way v1.01 is out already. From what I hear, it's very stable and almost bug-free. That's about as full version as it gets; I don't think there's going to be a campaign anytime soon though.

I've tried it and I've been very impressed with it. The new lockpicking is interesting and the gameplay is very tradtional. I found the archery and jumping a little weird but that's probably due to the engine and being used to T:DS (the most recent one I've played).

Nice. I managed to get it working. Going to have a trial run on one of the FMs (fan missions), then post a bunch of screenshots.
I really hope this goes commercial someday, with all the neat shizzbangs
Hole lee shiet!
For those who own Doom 3 and are contemplating reinstalling with The Dark Mod, DO IT! To call it Thief 4.0 would be an understatement. It recreates the feeling of Thief in almost every aspect - from the atmosphere to the sneak to the combat. With 1.4gb of assets, including sounds and textures, this is practically a new game on its own!
It only ships with one mission - that is the training mission - so you guys will have to manually download and install missions from here:
http://www.mindplaces.com/darkmod/missions.php
I highly recommend you guys download this FM (fan mission):

To call it "very scary" would be a massive understatement. This FM mindscrews you, my friends. It messes with your fears, makes you want to just quit the game like a pansy. I can't elaborate on this further without giving away spoilers, but suffice to say, this FM is almost on the same level as the Cradle level in Thief: Deadly Shadows.
PS you guys need to turn down the brightness and gamma. Trust me, it really adds to the scare factor

Now you must change your title to 'resident thief' or face punishment from Percy Jackson.
