I can't help but feel a little bad for the devs, but not much.

This dev team don't know who's their facing. Gaming community probably love to fight a lot but when it's regarding free speech we join together and slam the dictator down.

The Streissand Effect is in motion, they think they only burn a single bridge, but they don't realize that the fire spread to other bridges as well.

What a lame title to call a game, did they just figure "Oh yeah there's this mod for HL2 called "Garry's Mod", and we're releasing on Steam, and Steam fanboys love Steam, and Valve, and HL2, so that will get us sales for sure" lolololol

I didn't know that so many people actively dislike TB. After reading through hundreds of comments on many forums, "TB is a douche/annoying, but that's a scummy thing the developer did" seemed to crop up again and again. I almost feel like an outcast because I think he's pretty good!

I watch most of his WTF videos but it seems like he's a totally different person when it comes to Twitter and social media.

Don't worry, I enjoy his videos too. He gets to the point and I tend to agree with him in most cases.

I think he's pretty good, he reviews tonnes of indie or mainstream games I couldn't give a toss about, so I think the last video review of his I watched was for Shadowrun Returns, but he seems to have a good mindset and I pretty much agree with everything he says. I think people call him a douche simply because most gamers don't like hearing negative opinions, as in they're all fanboys and when they read/listen to a review of a game they expect to have their own positive pre-formed opinion to be reinforced. They don't want to play Cawadoodles: Modern Medal IVXII or Bioshock Infinite and decide it's the citizen kane of gaming (or have IGN/Gamespot tell them it is) and the have their world-view challenged by someone "of authority" who says it's actually pretty crap. Gamers (at least the mainstream flavor) are in general completely oversensitive and unable of either critical thinking themselves or even accepting criticism of a game they like.

Can't blame em mostly, pretty much every mainstream video game review site caters to gamers in this way, rarely offers really negative and/or critical reviews.

The same thought crossed my mind, I don't agree all that TB says, but I really appreciate his way of doing things. It was a bit of a surprise to see so much negative comments about him.
However most of those comments are 'I dislike him BUT on this point I agree with him' ......These kind of comment don't deserve much attention because putting in opposition their appreciation of the person with his point of view just proves a blatant lack of objectivity.

I honestly think its culture shock. I enjoy how snide and conniving he can be, and I love just how deadpan, witty, and downright snarky the true comedy that is British Humour.
