After the five minute story introduction, which looked iike it was heading towards a Spelunky type game, I was much surprised to see this do a total turn around and become a large, open-ended 8-bit game similar to Wind Waker and Star Tropics.

Most impressive looking 8-bit game ever.

In all seriousness though, thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Been following this for quite a while now. There supposed to be a final version out, but it seems to be just a new beta version.

It's like Terraria with a storyline...

And the beta already weighs almost 10 times more than whole Terraria.

Apprantly most of this was done by one person over the past two years - I imagine he only got up from his computer during all that time to poo.

The game appears to have quite a bit of content and detail.
I have to say, it looks awesome. I might wait until the proper 1.0 release since by his own admission it's still quite buggy.

You just made me imagine an office chair / loo hybrid!
The game looks like a nice way to chill while exploring - looks 16bit rather than 8bit to me though - Amiga rather than C64 style!

Yeah, but this was coming from a man who thinks Gamecube games look 8-bit. ;)
On the second house to the right from your grandmas house, a green one with chains to the left of it - enter and climb under the table.

Haww yeah.

Thank you! Downloaded and gave the first one a little try and it seems promising.
If anyone's interested, it has resolution multiplier in the .ini, the default is 2 (640x480). 1 would be 320x240, 3 is 960x720 (the 4:3 version of 1280x720) and 4 would give you 1280x960, although I haven't tried it.
Just a quick alert, Treasure Adventure Game 1.0 came out a few days ago. Dunno how it differs from the previous version though, could just be that he decided that the last beta was good enough and 'promoted it' to 1.0.
The soundtrack + bonus content has been released.

$6 on Bandcamp and you're pretty helping fund his next game.
