OK ive broken another cheapie headset.

sound is very quiet and voice comms from others is inaudible. ive looked at the headsets insides (wasnt an overly expencive one) and I see no faults so I assume the problem is in the flex.

My question is really how is Turtle Beach regarding manufacturers warranty?

If im going to pay the extra for a turtle beach headset I want to know that if/when it breaks the issue is dealt with swiftly and as hassle free as possible, 15-25£ are not worth the effort, 70+£ IMO is worth using the warrenty etc

If im getting a higher priced headset and it breaks I want to know I can contact the person with whom the warranty is with (LYGO thanks to cjrgreen) and get it fixed quickly

Good question. I assume it is out of warranty?
Turtle Beach warranty FAQ:

"In the USA and CANADA Warranty Service is provided by our Turtle Beach USA offices and in all other Countries it is provided by our local International Distributors."

For the UK, that is LYGO: http://www.lygoworld.com/support
derp, in haste and generally being crabbit my post wasnt very clear, ill edit it.

The broken 1 went in the bin, was a cheaper Ozone Attack headset. im thinking of getting a better (in theory) headset and Turtle beach seem pretty reputable from what ive heard. however what I have not heard is if people have had issues have they been resolved in a good and timely manner

Sorry for not being very clear with my purpose of topic
Hmm, is "getting it fixed quickly in case it breaks" really that important to you?

The Woman Of My Dreams (tm) went through probably a dozen cheap headsets over 2-3 years until we realized that they aren't really cheap if you constantly need to replace them. The most common issues were cable related, so we decided to spend a bit more money on a better wireless headset (Creative HS-1200). We also have a 5 € spare (wired) headset in case the main one breaks, so we can make do even if a repair takes time. Not sure whether such a solution would make sense in your situation too, but I thought I'd mention it as a possibility.

Wireless headset... hadnt considered that.

I have a dodgy headset that i have for emergancies like tonight.

Ill look at that model, how have you and your partner found it?

Also i agree about "cheap" headsets. Ive broken 7 in a year cheapest 1 was about 15£

She's very satisfied with it. Sound quality is the same as for wired headsets, there are no interferences to speak of (sometimes a microwave in 2m distance might interfere a bit when it's running, but nothing serious, and it's probably a problem of the microwave and not of the headset, our phone has the same "problem"), it's comfortable, battery life is good and the headset can be used during recharging (you just plug a cable in - note: not every wireless headset has this feature, but imho it pays off to get one that has). Considering that it was among the cheaper wireless headsets (at 70 €), we regard it as a very good buy.

We have it for 5 months now, and it's being used for 1-12 hours per day. Our calculation was that it should last for at least a year in order to justify the higher price. But even if it gave out a bit earlier, we'd probably still get a new wireless one. It's so comfortable not having to worry about cables when getting something to eat, opening a window, going to the bathroom, etc - it's worth paying a bit more.

The reviews of the HS-1200 did state some problems with the volume of the microphone. We did notice that the microphone is a bit quiet at the beginning of a connection, but it usually sorts itself out after a while.

Nevertheless, as with any headset, it's of course recommended to try it out before buying (either in a shop, or buy buying online at a shop that allows returns).

cost a bit more than i had intended originally (whats new there?) but I have ordered the HS-1200 digitals direct from creative. So everything is in the same place, no-one saying return it to the retailer to say return to manufacturer cause they are the same \o/

@ Spinfarm, I looked at your suggestions and might have gone with 1 of them if I had not got the HS-1200, thank you.

And thank you to everyone whom responded

Have in mind that Razer & SteelSeries headphones are for gamins. The Bose headphones are pure music ;)

Microwaves do have a tendency to mess with radiowaves at around 2.4GHz, don't they?
