For all i know it's part of your deal with them but Ubisoft has a promotion if you preorder rayman origins you get a free copy of rayman 2. I did this and just played through it. When i went to uninstall it I noticed it said Rayman 2 Gog.com version. The gog installer and setup programs definately weren't used but i thought it was a little strange. Be kinda funny if the most strict drm company is giving away your copy without your knowledge.
Interesting, but didn't they also say Rayman Origins should be DRM-free or something? Perhaps, this is at least "some" positive change with Ubisoft.
Ubisoft do have a bad habit of patching games by using other devs fixed .exe's.

GOG does this too. There's a few GOGs around that use NoCD patches from crack groups.
Most games from before about 8 years ago are missing their source (even now many companies delete the source after patching stops) so to create a drm removal is nontrivial. So many drm removals now are done using former sceners (some of whom just use thier old scene crack :P)
