There are rumours bouncing around about Game, the biggest (some would argue 'only') high street retailer of computer games in the UK. There's an article here:

however it's been really quiet in the news. I would have expected more about this. Does anyone know anything more, such as that it's all a lie, or all true?

I wouldn't go that far.
Well if you expect me to buy new games for £42.99 what the fuck do you expect? I mean they most uncompetitive retailer out there, even HMV is doing slightly better at trying to compete with Amazon. It's a wonder they've held out for this long really.
