This is a bit early, but I'm kinda worried about this future probable release. It could be released as just Ultima VII, or maybe VII and VII Pt 2... I'm hoping for both with the add-on for each, but the way things have gone, I'm not gonna hold my breath

Ultima VII:
Part One: The Black Gate
- Forge of Virtue expansion

Part Two: Serpent Isle
- The Silver Seed expansion

(crossing fingers for all 4 in one release =D)
Those are certainly games I would not buy without the expansions being offered.
Well, I have at home CD version of Ultima VII, there you have both games, both expansions and all documentation in pdf files. It's called "The complete Ultima VII".
I think if GOG releases Ultima VII they will use this version.

We can only wish, or then we get the normal "There's a problem with the licensing of the Part 2 and the expansion packs...".

Ps. I've never tried Exult, have to remember to try it someday. I remember getting the original Ultima 7 to run well on my old MS-DOS game was quite challenging as I tried to load the mouse driver, smartdrv disk cache etc. at the same time, and still have enough conventional memory for the game. I think the solution for me was that I found some alternative mouse driver from fhe net that used less memory than the default driver. With DOSBox, I guess it is a breeze.

Leaving out smartdrive was not an option at least on my system, as without it the game would constantly load something from the HD, as if it was streaming the whole game from there. That made the game very jerky and noisy. :)
Exult: Ooops forget about it...

Let's start off with the the bad news:
We have a bug that causes random objects in the games to disappear forever. When this happens Exult tends to crash badly. Unfortunately this bug is unpredictable and we have no sure way of reproducing and thus fixing it. We have some ideas of what is happening but no fix yet. This is a real show stopper and unless we fix it we can't release another release candidate or a final version. If you encounter this bug (disappearing objects, random crashes, especially in combat) best you can do is revert to an earlier savegame.
So it's been released! Anyone try it yet? Does it run through DosBox or something? I tried getting my copy (from the Ultima Collection CD) to run through DosBox and it was functional, but seemed to have some issues. If they've optimized it, I'm in!
EDIT: Whoops, they already changed the forum title. My bad, just ignore this post.

It works fine with Exult, just run the Exult installer, point to the GOG directories and you're done.
