I just purchased and downloaded The Beast Within, and every time i try to run the game i get this error message shown in the pic.


Help?

You might have better luck in the Gabriel Knight board. Do you have the latest version of the game's installer? Check out the sticky at the top of that board.

If so, try manually updating DOSBox with the latest version (0.74).

No idea, I assumed any new updates to the game were included in the downloded. Where do i download the installer's patch, anyway?

And also, could the Mods move this thread to GK's board? Thanks.

You'll have to redownload the installer. If your download is from post-March 2010, you should be all ready to go. Try updating DOSBox.

Huh... That's strange. Isn't there an unofficial patch? Try that. If it doesn't work, send GOG a support ticket.

Have you used the Graphic mode setup tool in the game start menu folder to try a diiferent graphic mode ?

Don't know if it will do any good but it's worth a shot.

Oh, and you're using the shortcut the installer placed on your desktop to start the game, right ?

I played with the graphic mode tool a bit and tried different options, running the game using the the non-shortcut file in the GB2 folder and it worked, thanks a lot.
