I finally saw the movie, figured that I should report on it, don't feel like digging up that other thread ...
the movie isn't exactly bad, it's just not really of the same DNA as the first movie.
biggest deviation from the firs move is that it's switched from action to gore, the first move had it's bloody bits but it was more about stylized combat than blowing the head off of things and ripping peoples arms off and shit.
second biggest deviation was that the first movie was heavy on the plot and setting while this movie's primary dialog consists of *ratatatatatat* and an assortment of grunts/growls.
the 3D was cool, and even at it's worst it beats the shit out of Twilight, I can't really give it a much better breakdown because my head is splitting due to the theaters speaker volume set to "thunderously loud."
I'll probably have to give it another go once it hits DVD, everything was kinda overwhelming in the theater due to the sound.
