Trying to register an IRC thingie,

Guide says to use the form: /msg nickserv register [password of your choice] [emailaddress]

easy enough but i get the reply: syntax REGISTER password password email email

this is likey a very easy thing to answer but what am i doing wrong, im too tired to fuck about with it all day

I accidently kicked the power cable and it rebooted the computer, its working now -_- wtf

/msg NickServ REGISTER <password> <email> (from wiki) should be the correct syntax... Is it case sensitive? I doubt it, but I guess trying to keep capitals might be worh a shot. I honestly have no clue about IRC so I'm hoping to keep bumping until somebody who does notices :-P

side note, I just went into irc #gog. Is there anyone on those rooms that isn't severely mentally deranged? No wonder I never go in there. When I log into this forum I'm easily the weirdest guy in the room, I go in there I'm not even in the running!

I visited a few times, It does hold some of the older and now basically inactive members who left the forum for various reasons and I think TET is there sometimes but its a very odd place to be.

Tea is funny, I kinda miss him on the forums but I cant spend much time on the IRC, my tolerance for bat crap crazy is pretty low, unless things have gotten better since i was last on there

There have been people trying to start alternative rooms on other networks... none have been very successful. And yes, #gog is strange - weird thing is though, I don't remember the same people being that strange when they still visited the forums.

Perhaps it's an IRC thing, increasing people's weirdness by 300%.

When the forum gets mods and generally cleans up its act I'll come back and be mentally deranged here, too, don't you worry.

Strange? No. Tribal? Yes. When you hang out in the same room together for 6 years things get a bit incestuous.

It must be irc. I've mentioned this before but when I use to live in irc 20 years ago the amount of 'bat shit crazy' was unnerving. Twisted thing is I had a chance to meet several of these people in person and a) they weren't threatening b) I'm shocked they knew how to type because let's face it, not many teeth and even fewer brain cells. :P
