A "let's play" video by GOG.com's very own Judas. How do you like it?

Since This Week on GOG is currently on a break in-between seasons, and we promised to keep the [url=http://j.mp/followGOGonYT]GOG.com YouTube channel interesting, we've got a special featurette for you. Our colleague, Judas, gets really passionate about some of the games we release. Just recently fell in love with Rogue Legacy, and spent many nights slashing monstrous sprites, exploring the trap-filled castle, and looting tons of gold. He had so much fun, that he thought it would be nice to share the experience, and that's how the following "let's play" video came to being. We thought it was cool enough to give it some final polish and share with you guys.

Judas Plays: Rogue Legacy

Many of our forum users may know Judas. Most, however, probably wouldn't know what he does around GOG.com, apart from delivering snarky blue one-liners. So, let's explain. Judas is our bonus content hunter always looking for a chance to add something special to our game releases. That's how he spend his days. The nights--that's a different story. That's when he puts on his special rogue outfit and sneaks back to the office to play games. That we knew, because even though he's extra stealthy, we sometimes find him in the morning, head on keyboard, snoring, with a text "Congratulations, you beat the game" flashing on his screen, and some heavy metal classic sounding from his headphones. The fact that he can coherently talk while playing--an important quality for a let's player--is as new to us as it is to you. We hope you'll like his show.

Give your feedback in the comments, please. Tell us if you'd like to see more of that kind of content (or something similar) on our YouTube channel. Judas will be lurking the forums, so you can tell him what you think. Just go easy on him. Those are his very first steps in the world of gaming videos.

If you're interested in the game that Judas Plays, it's Rogue Legacy, a proceduarally generated roguelike (or: rogue-LITE) platformer in which your dying character passes on his quest and heritage to his offspring, shaping a heroic saga generation by generation, and it's available on GOG.com for only $14.99.

Let's keep it classy :P

cyboff: Wow, nice Judas :D
...and for me ... you are pretty damn good player! :D

p.s. for all who like Rogue Legacy - there is nice project on Pixels For Breakfast:

You say that to all the GOG staff :P

nijuu: Nice one :D. How about you guys do a series with other guys in the office playing other games they like as well? ;)
Sadly, there are only few fluent English speakers at GOG.com. Even some of our native English speakers are absolutely impossible to understand because of their--let's say--New Zealandish accent (*ekhem*TurnipSlayer*ekhem*).

mondo84: I love this idea! Enjoying the video and commentary so far. :)

I hope it can continue even after TWOG resumes. Maybe a mid-week thing?
Judas working on a schedule. Now that would be a fun thing to see :-D

Well, this was kind of a spur of the moment idea of mine and I kind of jumped into the office and said "DUDES! I got this idea!" and basically shocked people with it into submission :D

I am not sure about the mid-week thing as I am planning on playing through some of my favorite GOGs, new and old, and that may take some time.

Fictionvision: If you keep up making these consider La Mulana and 99 Levels to Hell.

Basically anything that could cause some horrible deaths :P
Man, are you me? Seriously, because those are a couple of games I really like ...even if I am horrible at La Mulana :/

damien: Judas can I ask you a favor? Could you maybe go hunting some of the Alone in the Dark bonus material? :)

Believe me, I never stop hunting. Keep in mind that some of this stuff takes a while :D

spindown: Nice video. Can you do Sword of the Stars: The Pit next?
Oh man...you guys just want to watch me fail don't you? :D

(and yes, I love that game :D)

Also, guys give G-doc and Video Ninja a hand as they did some awesome work on very short notice. G-doc did the awesome intro and Video Ninja did music and putting the video together into a cohesive whole :D

Novotnus: Hey, guys! Let's put Judas through Magna Cum Laude, Forsaken Gods, Slender: The Arrival and many other lowest rated games :)
I can see it in my mind... Judas Plays Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. Naked.
You do know that the final decision on what I play rests with me, right?

I mean I was thinking about doing a Cat Lady show but now, I dunno...

mondo84: Many game requests in here. Better get to work, Judas. ;)
Me, work.

Good one :D

If you slowed my commentary down to 1/2 speed I'd be semi-understandable for a video!

mondo84: [...]
Oooh, ooooh! I have another idea. Maybe GOG posters/customers can submit their own "I'm playing ..." videos or write-ups, then GOG chooses one each week to feature.
[...]
I love this idea.

Ghorpm: As a rule of thumb I hate intros in youtube videos. They are boring, unnecessary, and are stealing my precious time I can spend on something else. But this intro? Whoa! It was awesome! Purely AWESOME! I though I would never say something like that about intro. Good job guys!

And now I'm pretty certain I should get Rogue Legacy. I think I will enjoy this game a lot!
Please pass that on to GDoc and Video Ninja. They worked their butts off on it :D

mothwentbad: For a high-level Spellsword, Judas was pretty stingy with the mana... I was sort of shouting at my monitor a little.
Guilty as charged as I am naturally stingy with my mana >.>
