So, honest question that requires a honest answer. Have any of been infatuated by a video game character? I remember that when I was a teen I absolutely loves Viconia from BG2. My GF admits it too and we both agree that for some reason that was only possible when someone is a teen.

So, anyone else with a similar experience?

PS: I really felt like a looser writing this.
Cant say I've been infatuated by a character, there are characters whom I find memorable but that's about it.
If you are a loser then I must be your king. Welcome home my son.

I don't know if "infatuated" is the right word but I do know that being a teen has nothing to do with it. For me it's always been more of a crush, specificially on strong female characters (though not Lara Croft for some reason). I've often felt that if I could find a girl just like Jaina Proudmoore then my life would be complete. Aside from her I've always had a thing for Kerrigan (in mutant form, yeah, I'm all screwed up) and the Assassin from D2.

Of course on the other end of the spectrum you have the "Ambiguously Gay Duo" of Paul and Vince from Ikari Warriors. I never had a thing for them, but I'll wager that they definitly had a thing for each other!
I have no idea why you would conclude that it can only happend as a teen based on 2 test cases... (if you can even call it that)
I'd rather say its a matter of imagination, it's harder to fall in love with fictional charechters because you tend to have less to go on, but a person with good immagination might aswell invent a better person than the 1 they would meet in real life.

I can't say ive been in "love" with any video game charechters, but i have been infaturated with both anime charechters and certain woman in certain books.

People tend to lose parts of their imaginative skills with age, that might be the reason you feel this cant happend with you anymore :)

PS: the guy over corrected me, forgot about jaina in my young wc3 days, but infaturated would be strong word for me there I tend to believe, it might be her very innocent and naive nature though :)
