I don't recall being annoyed by bad voice acting in games, albeit nowadays the voice acting in the early games (like Wing Commander 2 Speech Pack and such) does sound kinda weird. I guess back then I didn't mind them as I was so amazed by hearing any speech at all in games. Whoa, almost like a real movie!

What may irritate me a bit with voice acting is that I presume it severely restricts how much dialog a game can have, as producing voice acting is much more time/money/space consuming than text. I guess the older Bioware RPGs had a good idea in that only some major dialogs had voice acting, while most was "mere" text.

I love King's Quest V, but the voice acting is horrible... and in the non-floppy version you can't skip the dialogue either. I give it a pass for being one of the first games on CD, with developers doing a lot of the acting.
