This game is pretty awesome, but very, very hard.
I usually don't enjoy this type of game (I Wanna Be The Guy, anyone?), but thank god for the liberal amount of checkpoints...

$15? Seriously?
I tried the demo and I liked what I saw but it's not worth $15. Unless someone gets it for me.
Cool use of retro-like visuals though.
This game is really frustrating me... Arggggg... Makes me see why so many checkpoints were sprinkled about.
I've played Ghosts'n Goblins already. So what's the funny part here? That the game is simply frustrating isn't a good reason to buy (or even try it) right now.

I don't know, the switching mechanic is kind of clever. Instead of jumping you switch the gravity around (which can only be done when standing on something, not while falling). I quite like if-you-make-a-mistake-you-die-try-again games, and the many checkpoint make it very tolerable anyway. I haven't played the entire demo yet, so I don't know if new ideas besides the switching are introduced. Still.. $15 !? I'd sink some time in it if it was a free flash game, or perhaps less than $5.

This game is really neat.
Ok, I take back what I've just said: I've tried the flash demo and the game is that kind of sadistic little bastard I enjoy killing my keyboard on from time to time. It seems even shorter than Valve's Portal (and this isn't necessarily a totally negative thing, imho), but could be worth the money the author claims.
Anyway I've got too much things to play on recently, waiting to have the time to install a new CPU (Intel dual-core X9100 "Extreme" @3,00 GHz, I'm looking forward to it), re-play Halo, Oni, Diablo, Resident Evil 1 & 2 and other things I don't recall at the moment so this "VVVVVV" madness has to wait for its time in my computing agenda :-D
I just beat the demo, and kinda liked it. But there were some quite frustrating moments (for the first half an hour of gameplay - that's something). I suppose the latter levels would make me quite mad, and 15 bucks is kinda steep...
For a great free platformer - try Cave Story or Time Fcuk.
Argh! Gave up on the demo at the part where you have to jump up to that scrolly thing to avoid those purple dudes that jump and down. It's hard!

I'm highly debating upgrading my mobo/cpu to a amd phenom II x4 3.0 gig 95W... they overclock pretty well and only cost like around $150 in the states
Here's my review of the game.

This switching mechanic has been done before and done much better:

aah, that looks awesome. I love NES graphics. Anyway, I suppose VVVVVV loses those creativity points then.
I loved the little opening cinematic.
