Thought this might be a good opportunity to start the GOG Wall of Weird, where people report on all the strangest things that they've seen on the web in the way of news reports.

My one for today is finding out that the 3D release of Titanic (don't think I've seen that for about a decade, truly dreadful film) has been censored in China. Nothing new there.

The punchline is the reason why:

"Considering the vivid 3D effects, we fear that viewers may reach out their hands for a touch and thus interrupt other people's viewing. To avoid potential conflicts between viewers and out of consideration of building a harmonious ethical social environment, we've decided to cut off the nudity scenes."

I mean seriously, Kate Winslet's breasts? I keep getting images of masses of Chinese sitting in cinemas with their 3D glasses on, tongues on the floor and simultaneously doing breast massage movements with their hands. It's quite disturbing really.

I recall reading about a ring made recently by some European jeweler which is the world's first (Known) "true" diamond ring.....as in the whole thing(band and all) is made of a single diamond.

Cost? A "mere" 70 mil.

Even if it were free I don't think i'd want one......thing looks gaudy as f**k.

The 9-year-old girl asked to ride in the trunk, a request the grandfather accepted for the trip to Sorpe Lake in the Sauerland area of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany's The Local reported. But when they arrived, he was so enchanted by the scenery that he got out and went for a walk, he told local police.

Other tourists heard the girl's calls for help as she pounded on the inside of the trunk and they summoned firefighters who were able to free her from the car, according to UPI.

The local police spokesman told the wire service that the grandpa was "visibly affected" by the incident upon his return and given a warning by German police. He also promised to never let anyone ride in his trunk again, UPI reported.

Like, who would in their sane mind allow a child to ride in a trunk of a car! Not to mention forget about the poor kid :(

I found this one out a while ago.
The blind can legaly hunt in texas and michigan.
They dont need to be accompanyed by anyone in michagan though

On one hand....the whole blind thing, and possibly shooting another person.

On the other.....their heightened remaining senses, which could allow them(possibly) to discern between animal and human sounds to determine what to shoot at.

I was allowed to ride in the trunk only last December. Or rather forced to as we did not have enough place for everyone in the car. Actually it was quite comfortable as the driver put me some cushions there. :D
... Interestingly enough, that was also in Germany... and taking into account the age difference I even can qualify as the driver's grandson. I would call it a trend except for I definitely do not qualify as a child. :)
