So Atari still exists as a company? Didn't they go bankrupt and sell the assets on auction?

Infogrames bought Atari, but since the Atari brand is more recognizable than the Infogrames one, they changed names to Atari.

Hence why the Alone In The Dark series is a series by "Atari".
Not a lot of Mac love the last few weekends.

But as I didn't really start my gog buying in force until the middle of February, and the amazing promos since then have provided me with enough games (over 90) to conceivably last much of a lifetime, I think I'll make it.

Not going to get Omerta to stand in solidarity with my brothers and sisters. But I'll definintely grab Alone in the Dark, which is on my wishlist, and Journeyman 1 while I'm at it.

And when tax season ends next week and I start to enjoy weekends for the first time since January? Oh man, am I going to game.

Yeah, that was more than a decade ago. I'm talking about last year's bankruptcy

Atari is still not quite out of bankruptcy protection but it might be able to pay off part of the debt. Here is an article about that from december 2013 http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/206388/Ataris_bankruptcy_escape_plan_is_courtapproved.php

At the moment whole of Atari consists of ten people. They are supposedly now working on the new mobile based Roller Coaster Tycoon 4.

Master of Magic, both Cultures games, and Risen 2. I think I'm done for the weekend...
Show some love for Ceville, gals and guys - it's such a good adventure, give it a chance.
Is Port Royale like Uncharted Waters II: New Horizons from KOEI with improvements? When I saw and read the description, UW2 just came to my mind. And how about the Cultures games?
Oh look, Omerta is on sale... It would be lovely to get that! Wait, did I say Omerta?! I mean Blood. Yeah, that's what I mean. ^^;

Edit: But seriously, I need to add both to my collection.

Wow, thank you so much for pointing that out! With all the strategy-exclusive talk that's going on in here, I might have missed that one, and it sure looks like my kind of game.

Wishlisting it for now, as my money is barely enough to pay the bills, this month, but will buy it as soon as I get the chance!
Master of Magic, Riddick, and the Alone in the Dark and Blood are a steal at these prices. (Those are the only ones I've played so far). Just finished Master of Magic a few weeks ago for the first time, the gameplay still holds up very well after all this time.

Atari sells other older games from their digital store like Airborne Rangers and Boiling Point (aka Xenus), I hope those will make it to GOG one day as well.

phaolo: Same for KKND, can you do comparisons to other good games?
KKND Extreme is a pretty straightforward Command&Conquer RTS clone. It can be quite hard at least on the hardest difficulty level, but not impossible (after all, I was able to finish it... but yes, the Hand of God mission was a real challenge!).

It is a pretty funny game thought IMHO. Some of the mission descriptions and such really cracked me up. Like the expansion pack mission which went something like "The enemy knows we are here, and they are expecting us to attack their base at full force with everything we've got... but we are not going to play their petty game. Instead, we will send you in alone to destroy their base. Good luck!". Right, that makes sense. :)

KKND2: I was afraid to start playing it because I had an impression that it is even harder than KKND Extreme... but so far that doesn't seem to be the case, so far the difficulty levels feels quite nice for me. It is also a pretty generic RTS game, but quite polished one, and very nice mission music at times. E.g.:

One complaint though: I'm also affected by that bug that sometimes a mission ends abruptly with "Mission failed!" while I did nothing wrong. To overcome it, you'll just have to try again with an earlier save game. So save often to several save game slots, recycling the save slots.

Riddickulous sale!

(haven't most of these been 70-80% off in previous sales though?)

Hmm, I-War games on sale. Don't suppose anyone can guess which titles will show up in a future giveaway of mine...

Heh - I love me some I-War2

Thanks for the sale, gOg!
Bah! I just got Tropico on a sale for another site last week! Would have prefered them on GOG, but at least I still got them DRM-free.
