Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Earthworm Jim series, MDK 1&2, Freespace 1&2, Die by the Sword, and more Interplay classics 50% off!

When a conversation between gamers comes down to listing the absolutely essential PC classics one can't simply imagine the gaming world without, inevitably Interplay games come up. Most PC gamers are dedicated Interplay fans, even if unknowingly. Even if by some strange twist of life you don't instantly recognize the label, it's an easy bet that looking at our this week's [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/interplay_weekend_promo_280314]Interplay Irresistibles promo page you'll immediately notice at least two or three titles that will make you excited or nostalgic. The number of unforgettable classics in Interplay's offer here on GOG.com is simply astounding. Today, we bring you all of them with a 50% discount. Let's give our users the chance to talk about some of their favorites!

"My most indelible impression of playing Giants: Citizen Kabuto for the first time all those years ago was of just how FUN it all was. A great sense of humour (British, naturally) coupled with gorgeous graphics, lively characters, a host of play styles and topped off with THE best creature-stomp levels ever presented in gaming."--says our user GTLC in his review of the game.

I have never played a better "sword fighting" game than Die By The Sword. While the controls take a while to get used to, THEY MAKE SENSE! Being able to control your swings, where they go, how fast, being able to do feints, targeted shots, block, ripostes, etc. What other game gives you that type of control?--asks Shnar in his review of the title he calls the Most realistic sword fighting game EVER!

Besides the offbeat humor and the entertaining variety of the gameplay, MDK has one major thing going for it: presentation. This decade-old game holds up rather well thanks to some inspired level design and art direction. The colors really pop out; the game is dark, but isn't afraid to throw in vivid reds and oranges amidst the browns, blacks and grays. The dated graphics inadvertently give an otherworldly quality to the world's architecture. It's true that the assets are blocky, yet manage to be discernible and even look futuristic somehow. There are some seriously awesome textures here that are meant to disorient the player and try to turn genre conventions upside-down. The game is a joy to look at, listen to, and play[...]--says Chad praising the game's "unreal art direction".

That's only a small part of our weekend offer. Head out to our Interplay Irresistibles promo page and grab yourself some of the best games ever made for the PC, 50% off on GOG.com. The offer lasts until Tuesday, April 1, at 3:59AM GMT.

Impaler26: There are a few games i want in this promo but for now i just bought Die by the Sword. Couldn't bring myself to buy Sacrifice yet. :D
Yeah, I want to buy it too, but not for 5$ :\
(also, I've already finished it in the past)
A question - Has anyone been able to run through Lionheart on a Windows 8 setup? The stated compatibility doesn't include it, but was wondering if someone had been able to overcome compatibility issues and make it work somehow.

cryotek: I'd really like to see Forsaken on GoG. I still own the disc but I can't seem to get it running on Windows 7 64-bit :(
I'm surprised Night Dive hasn't brought it yet!
Already Own all these games but wouldn't buy anything anyway. 122 Gog games and only finished 14 of them.

I was interested in this as well, but I couldn't find anything saying that it works on win 8; in fact, people have trouble running it on win 7 (64 bit) as well.

Well....shit. Regardless, thank you for the response. Yet another reason to keep gnawing on a relative's ass until they let me buy their dust-covered XP-packing beauty from them.
I got Redneck Rampage, MDK 1+2, and Earthworm Jim 1+2... some of my favourite games that were lost to me through the ravages of time. I also finally reached my 100th game on GOG, so to celebrate, I got Die by the Sword.

No problem. It's a cool game, we'll just have to soldier on w/o it somehow, though :|

Does Redneck Rampage run well on DOSBox? I read that it had some control issues.

355 (+some DLC) owned and finished about 30 (not counting those I've given up on or can't really be "finished", i.e. pinball or fighting games).

Edit: Also being generous since some of those 30 were finished on other systems.

355 is quite impressive. I've seen people with 2000 plus on steam.

I forgot hidden games making it 184 on GoG , Steam is another 253 with 33 finished .I always buy the dlc but usually get bored once I've completed a game and never play it. I'm a sucker for 75% sales thinking it's only $5 or $10 but since I don't play them I must have wasted $500 -$1000 dollars. It's best just to ignore he sales. Buy a game when you actually want it.

She's running beauty for me so far! It plays surprisingly well with a 360 controller, too (though pinnacle).
