!This weekend, we offer you GOG's entire [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/topware_weekend_promo_070214]Topware catalog 70% off! Among all of the games it features, we'd like to put one in the spotlight the most. There are games that never get hyped much in the media and aren't considered milestones of their genre, but still success in accumulating a modding community so large and dedicated, that you could say the development of such title never really stopped. Such is the case of Knights & Merchants, a medieval real-time strategy with in-depth society simulation and epic-scaled armies. Even though the game came out in 2001, a community of talented fans doesn't stop in their effort to, fix and tweak it, make it enjoyable for the modern gamer, and support it with all the features the fanbase demands. All this goes towards a impressive mod, that we recently featured in one of our Mod Spotlight editorial. Get the game for only $1.79. check out the mod, and witness the magic of PC gaming community!

Not really fond of historical setting? Would you rather take a plunge into a fantastic realm quite different than our reality? The magical land you'll be visiting in Two Worlds: Epic Edition should easily satisfy all your escapism needs with its vast and lush gameworld, visuals that remain quite impressive even today, and a well-told story that often lets you digress from its main thread. The Epic Edition we offer you, comes bundled with the game's both expansions: Tainted Blood and Curse of Souls. Yours for only $2.99! The bigger, better, and more--erm--magical sequel, Two Worlds 2: Epic Edition, also complete with all the extensions and bundled with two great MP3 soundtracks, is also available 70% off (that's $5.99).

Two Worlds 2 intro

Fantasy not really your thing? Well, how about some hard science fiction, then? Earth 2140 Trillogy, Earth 2150 Trillogy, Earth 2160--or the Earth 21-something series, as we like to call it--offer top-notch RTS gameplay in a gritty futuristic setting, at $1.79 each!

Of course, that's not all of the excellent titles you can find 70% off in our Totally Topware promo this weekend, so head out to the promo page and pick your favorites. The offer lasts until Tuesday, February 11, at 4:59AM GMT.

Dzsono: Pray tell...
That's the main reason I bought this game :D Erm, I mean, uh... Forswooth yon ork, how pray tell may I... Uh, nevermind :D
Personally I found the voice acting in Two Worlds 1 charming, both from a medieval fan perspective and from a "its so bad its charming" perspective.

Not for everyone's taste but then again, very few things are.

Did experience a couple of issues where the cut scenes would not play for me for whatever reason, but no big deal there - I just found the files and played them.

I did like the stacking system, and feel that is the best way games these days should deal with an abundance of identical loot.

Was somewhat interesting to explore, but some plot threads including the main plot could have been better written and developed further. Not bad for a first attempt, but not great either.

Edit: adding bit for Septerra Core below:

Also, for Septerra Core: I liked that one a lot (played it back when it first came out). If there was one flaw with it, it is the combat. There is simply too much of it and no way to avoid them. As long as this can be over-come I feel there is great entertainment to be had. I especially liked how the various religious aspects of our world were borrowed and adapted to the game's world.

I had the same problem with Two Worlds, you must have Windows Media Player installed for the videos.
Oooh, another nice sale! Not a real fan of RTS games (read: basically I'm just crap at the few ones I tried :-D ), so gonna leave those, but I might pick up Jack Orlando and Gorky 17. :-)
All right, weekend sale. Good stuff to be had....except for Windows 8 not running the two items on my wishlist. Okay, okay, what else can I run with....?

Oh yeah. There it is. It's perfect. Absolutely perfect. And it's at a really great price to boot. Two Worlds is the one for me. Thank you as always, GOG, for helping me to engage in computer game-based sadomasochism.
So, if I have no Topware, what should I get...?

Well, I am sure I did... Perhaps some kind of codec issue? Oh well, like I said it is not that big a deal. More annoying than anything but it did not prevent me from being able to finish the game.
Gorky 17 sounds interesting but its listed as compatible with WinXP or Vista?. Does it work ok with Windows 7 64bit?

It all depends on what type of game you are looking for but I would go for these.

Earth 2140
Enclave
Gorky 17
Knights & Merchants
Two Worlds
Septerra Core is looking interesting, except the screen shots remind of when they used to smash 16:9 movies onto a 4:3 TV.
I want to get the Two Worlds games but don't want to stretch my budget. So if anyone wants to trade:

You can pretty much make outrageous demands and I'll probably agree. I'm insane like that, but insane people don't think their insane, so am I.

I like strategic/tactical games. I'm not into point-and-click adventures and games with a lot of resource micro management, like trading games, are not really for me. I need said games to run on Win7 x64.

...I seem to have Enclave elsewhere, so I guess that's one down from that list of suggestions. =P

Thanks!

Earth 2140 is good. When it was released we had a lot RTS games so it was difficult to appreciate it. But after some time I realized it's one of the few RTS games that I still like playing. I forgot about others but somehow I still enjoy Earth 2140 so there must be something good in it. Sure, it's not perfect but enjoyable nonetheless.
A Canadian, a French and a Polish guy are sitting in a rubber dingy...if you think this is the start of a bad joke, you need to buy Gorky 17 now. Just got this from the promo and about 1 hour into the game I gotta say, this game is surprisingly good. The battles are challenging from the get-go, there's no Final Fantasy style sleepwalking here. Not since the Incubation Wilderness missions have I played anything that tickled my X-COM bone in such nice ways. (recently got S2 Silent Storm but haven't installed it yet, big hopes for that one too)
