UPDATE: Contest closed, see page 4 for the winners.

The December sales are bringing in a lot of new blood, and also prompting a lot of giveaways. Unfortunately, many of these giveaways are closed to anyone who has registered in the last few months. While I understand the reasons for this (to cut down on scammers), I think it's too bad that the newcomers aren't getting to join in the fun.

Also, I've won two giveaways in the past 24 hours - the balance must be restored!

So, I'm giving away two $9.99 shopping sprees at GOG.com to members who have registered on or after November 1st, 2012.

EDIT: Other GOG members have now contributed additional prizes! Too many to list here; see below for what can be won!

And since I'm addressing newcomers, I might as well use this opportunity to draw attention to one of this site's features: the community wishlist. This is where you vote for games you would like to see released at GOG.com, or site features you would like the GOG team to implement. While this doesn't necessarily determine the order in which games get released (GOG still has to secure the rights, after all), it does presumably give GOG some ammunition when trying to persuade publishers to release their games here ("Look at how many people have requested it!").

So to enter this giveaway, here's what you need to do:

1. Head on over to the Community Wishlist
2. Vote for something (or many things! Or add your own request!)
3. Come back and post in this thread, and tell me what you voted for (and why!).

Please only enter if you want the games for yourself, or as gifts for someone you know. If you're just looking for codes to trade, then please get them elsewhere.

Contest ends at some point on December 21. I will randomly pick two winners using random.org. The winners can send me a PM asking for up to $9.99 worth of games at any point until the end of the holiday sales.

That's it! Welcome to GOG.

These damn kids coming here and ruining it for everybody! I remember the good old days way back when I joined three months ago.

Still, very generous of you. +1!
Hi

I voted for Grim Fandango because I've already played everything on that list. Plus I really want to play Fandango and it's become a real pain to get!

...and I voted for *old* games because a)my system is pretty weak and b)those are the games I grew up with. Not that I'm old, but the next time I mention a fave of mine and someone says "Yeah my dad use to play that!" I swear I'm gonna cry.
This is an awesome giveaway! Thank you, Azilut. :)

I've already done a lot of voting on the community wishlist, but I had another look through and put up mine for Mechwarrior II. I'm pretty young and have only been gaming for maybe five-eight years, so there are a lot of awesome games I've not experienced. I've never played a Mechwarrior game, but it sounds like awesome fun. It's as simple as that!
Thanks for doing this! I've done quite a few, mostly in the past:

No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 - Last time I played it which was quite a while ago I remember this being one of the most extensive and challenging stealth games that I have ever played, which is one of my favorite genres.

Tron 2.0 - I remember it being very similar to NOLF 2 but I have only played to demo so I would like to experience the full game.

Grim Fandango - Seems like an essential adventure game and I am very curious to play it.

Age of Empires 1 and 2 - Lost my CDs for part 1 and the serial code for part 2, and I would love to play them again. GoG seems to be the cheapest option for this.

SimCity 3000 - Same reason as above

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind - I was a big fan of Oblivion and I have a feeling I will like this one even more since older rpgs tend to be more complex and challenging.

Freelancer - Simply for nostalgia. I hope to play it again to see if it's as good as I remember it.

Swat 4: Gold Edition - One of my all time favorite shooters which actually has a very engaging atmosphere, just as good as the atmosphere in Arma: Cold War Assault.

Call of Duty - Although I did not like how the series turned out I remember the first one being one of my favorite shooters.

NOLF 1 and 2 ARE the best stealth fighters. I still play them constantly. Yes there are newer and better looking games out there but nothing comes close to that sense of humor and I've yet to see a Halo game that puts you into a sword fight inside of a house inside of a tornado. Wait, didn't Pong have that, or am I thinking of something else?
I voted for Toonstruck. It's one of the most clever and underrated point-and-click games I've ever played, and it's insanely difficult to find copies now. Hardly anyone seems to have heard of it, but it's got Christopher Lloyd, Tim Curry, Tress MacNeille, and Dan Castellaneta in it, and some seriously awesome puzzles. So, yeah, that's what I voted for.
Fantastic idea! Way to fight for the litlle...uh...I mean...new guy. A big +1 to you my friend.
Good on you, Azilut, to do this for new users who sometimes can't enter other giveaways. +1
Hello,

I am totally new to gog.com, I have been playing games packaged with DRM like GFWL, Steam and Battle.net. I never really liked DRM in games, but I could live with it, sometimes I had problems with internet connection and Steam Offline Mode wasn't working smoothly and got game launch delays because of irritating "sync to cloud" bug. However, Diablo 3 always online DRM was a final nail in the coffin, and I quit the gaming altogether.

But recently I got craving to play something on my laptop. Since I still have bad memories from DRM services, I had to do something radical. Accidentally I have read the article about a free Duke Nukem 3D giveway. Groovy! I have heard about gog.com in the past, but never made an account. So here I am and these are my votes:

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/clive_barkers_undying
One of the scariest games I have played in 90s. The sounds in that game were just awesome and creepy. It had a better scare effect on me back then than Amnesia these days.

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/baldurs_gate_enhanced_edition_1
I am planning to buy this classic once it comes to GOG. I know that gog.com offers the normal version of Baldur's Gate, but it just feels uncool buying it while knowing there is a "better" version out there.

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/quake_ii
It is a no-brainer vote from me. When I was a kid I saw guys playing this in an internet cafe. I tried it and got shredded to pieces because I didn't know how to move quickly(strafing, rocket jumps, etc.). I still want to learn that double jump! Only if Bethesda(they own id Software these days) were not a bunch of greedy *beep* *cough* BFG Edition *cough*, the world would be a better place. And GOG would have all the classic Doom and Quake titles.

And the last one...

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/amnesia_the_dark_descent
I was a little surprised not to find it on gog.com, it just makes no sense. It is an indie game and devs should sell it on as many services as possible. They sold it for a dollar as a part of a Humble Bundle(yes, it's for charity, but still...) but not on GOG? What?

Azilut: snip
In case any of the newcomers missed the free Duke Nukum 3D promo a couple days ago, I sent you with a PM containing 2 seperate keys for it. Please add them to the giveaway, if you'd be willing. :)

Thanks so much man! Good to see someone supporting us new members! :) I will be entering, again, very generous of you. Merry Christmas!

So I voted for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, because I have it for Xbox and it is amazing. One of the coolest games ever.
I also voted for Assassin's Creed III, also a wonderful graphics and action game.

DaCostaBR: I remember the good old days way back when I joined three months ago.
*raspy voice* I remember... the good old days we used to have back in the year of our Lord 2008. We had none of these fancy "indie games"... "EA games", "Ubisoft"... All we had was FALLOUT ! And we LIKED it that way. We also had sales... Huge Interplay sales... every fortnight or so. We never got bored of them, even though everyone already had Fallout anyway.

(Not entering, obviously ;P)
yo Big Ups Yaself, Azilut!

Hi all,

My votes: Sins of a Solar Empire - a classic that should take its rightful place on GoG
Baldur's Gate Enhanced - would love to see it here
